My Interests

Music:

Band Website: thedeadbeatclub.co.uk
Band Members: It sort of changes every week, really.Andy Tucker writes the songs and sings them. Then lots of other, much more talented people play on them. Like Hollerin' Shona Brodie. Gordon 'SG' Robertson, Lord Clive Backler, Derek DT Turner and David 'Ledge" Bell. All fine upstanding human beings. Andrew & Alastair Taylor from Dropkick have saved many a set. Hugh "Mein Kampf' Mackay, Roy 'Jose Cuervo' Henderson and Robert 'Lord Soz' Szorenyi have been bullied into several undignified events. Robbie 'The Flute" Edmonstone and Keith Paton have come to the rescue on more than one occassion. Even Kat Healy has been bothered to help out. It's quite good fun, if you like that sort of thing.
Influences: Big Jim
Sounds Like: "Gorgeous tunes that, even when the stories are dark, make you feel all gooey inside. World weary heaven." The Daily Record"There’s a very endearing, laid-back quality here. That’s part of the charm. Everything is short, sweet, and simple.” Is this music?"Acoustic rock-pop delights" The List"Fronted by a Caledonian Lowell George, giving it all from his sandalled feet to his hirsute head, they ripped through some gems.” Americana UK"Genuinely sweet" The Skinny “One of our favourite live acts. Lead singer Andy Tucker has one of those great country soul voices.” Bluesbunny"Hotly tipped and gloriously untrendy" Edinburgh Evening News"You sure have a purdy voice..." Seasick Steve (bearded three stringed blues legend) "Heard one of your tracks on one of my friends sites and really liked. Good luck!" Karine Polwart"Great tunes!" Daniel Wylie (pop genius and ex Cosmic Rough Riders)"Your band sounds great. The recording even sounds good thru my laptop speakers!" Robert Fisher (Willard Grant Conspiracy)"Great show. You have a fantastic voice." Kevin Montgomery (bearded country rock legend)"Captivating stuff. It's folky and quirky and makes you want to play it again as soon as its finished." RCT Music"One of the best live bands I've seen this year." Jim Gellatly, Xfm"Really good." Bryan Burnett, Brand New Country on Radio Scotland"Refreshing to see a band enjoying themselves so much." Crooked Rain website"Smart turns of phrase with classy melodies and harmonies. Circa 1985 could comfortably be a hit song." Total Music Magazine"Think of Glen Freys unique vocal arrangements for the Eagles, think Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac brought up to date with layered vocals and big, big self-penned melodies. Unmissable.' The Edinburgh Guide

Review in The Skinny - a new fan is born!

There's almost too much I can say about this review....No, Sometimes isn't a misogynist anthem, and from her 'how rubbish women are' comment I strongly suspect she has only listened to the first three...
