Rick Fulton (Daily Record) on Underbelly's 'Come in to Land' single(24 November 2006):
"EDINBURGH-BASED but Bangor (N. Ireland) raised, Underbelly, play the same kind of rock that marks Snow Patrol's Final Straw album.
"Come in to Land has the same kind of quiet and loud bits beloved of Gary Lightbody. There are heavy rock guitars and soft folk guitars. Second song (I Won't) Leave You to Die is actually better than the main song while Slow Me Down is a gorgeous acoustic ballad. After hundreds of Franz Ferdinand copycat bands it's great to hear a band following the success of Lightbody and co.â€

Here's the band biurb
Formed in 2003, Underbelly (Alan Davison, Mikey Cameron, Simon Quinn and Simon Ferguson) settled quickly into their collective songwriting process, creating an ever expanding set of well constructed and catchy tunes, which have built up a loyal fan base in Edinburgh.
Notable gigs for the band include supporting Zane Lowe favourites Cherry Falls (now The New York Fund), The Grim Northern Social, Cosmic Rough Riders, Noel Gallagher's first label signing, Proud Mary and a future support with the fearsome, female foursome, The Hedrons.
In May 2006 Underbelly competed in the T in the Park unsigned competition T-Break to a packed Liquid Room in Edinburgh with a resulting profile boost in the city. September 2005 saw them head across the water to Belfast, Northern Ireland, (home soil for 3/4 of the band) for a whirlwind visit to promote their EP 'Come in to Land', which has already debuted on Radio Ulsters Across the Line show. The show is responsible for airing the earlier efforts of such bands as Ash, Divine Comedy, Snow Patrol and Iain Archer.
As well as playing one of Belfast's premier venues, The Empire, for the CD launch, Underbelly performed an in-store session in Virgin Megastore, conducted interviews on local radio, and made an appearance on Ulster Television's primetime news and entertainments show UTV Live, before returning to Edinburgh to begin booking more gigs around Scotland. The success of Underbelly's Belfast visit prompted a return invitation for the BELFEST festival in November 2005. The gig (in The Spring & Airbrake in the heart of the city) earned them this review:
“...Underbelly are next on the bill. It’s pretty clear from the get go that singer Alan Davison has an impressive set of lungs. The former Bangor lad has formed a pretty impressive bunch of musicians and Underbelly are in a different class from the rest of tonight’s performances. Specialising in classic, anthemic rock, Underbelly’s latest single ‘Come In To Land’ is pretty special. Very promising indeed.â€

Future Underbelly gigs are planned for all over Scotland in 2007 in the wake of a successful mini Scottish tour with Edinburgh-based, melodic and moody songsters, The Kays Lavelle, in November/December 06 taking in Dundee, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh. The band are also intending to get to London in 2007 and plans are even being formed to drift over the Atlantic to try and do some shows in the USA.
Other press:
“...Alan Davison’s ability to crowd-please on demand, ably backed by Underbelly, he took us through a selection of rock belters in true troubadour fashion. His voice warmed up as the set progressed and by the end we saw the strongest lyrical rock of the night...â€
