About Me

I write songs, then sing songs. I am here for the music and to find a place to showcase my music. I am always happy to hear from new people and make new friends but will deny friends requests from people with whom I share nothing in common. I'm not here to simply rack up numbers and I won't be a statistic in your quest for greatness. It's already becoming almost impossible to keep up with the number of people on my "friends" list although I do try and check in with people as often as I can. I've met and collaborated with some wonderful people through myspace and made some friends who will be friends for life.I released the album "Confessional" in December 2007 and you can buy it by clicking on either of the wee buttons over there on the other side of the page. You can hear clips of all 15 tracks on iTunes. The songs currently on the player are working demos and I refresh these regularly to get feedback, so please have a listen and let me know what you think. At some point in 2008 I will be releasing another CD. ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************ My live performances are usually put up here so you can see where I'm playing. Apart from my solo/collaborative gigs where I perform my own stuff, I also gig with my brother Richie (Bedford Falls and ex-liberties) where we do a variety of songs - never planned, never rehearsed but always great fun. ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ************ "There's an element of self examination through the album, but not to the point that you feel like a voyeur for listening in. It's more that it's asking questions of both the writer and listener. It does so through a combination of folk, acoustic rock and blues backing. Ultimately Henderson lands an album he can take pride in" - Review of "Confessional" by Fatea Records 2008.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Just me.
Influences: Edinburgh : my city and my home, my children, the woman who saved my life and supports me no matter what, my parents, my real friends, the world around me, the stuff that happens which I love and that which I loathe, the songs of Joni Mitchell, Ron Sexsmith and Neil Young, the voices of Paul Buchanan and Karine Polwart, the songs of Lennon and McCartney, Dylan and Tom Petty, the bizarre and downright strange things which I see almost every day, the rain and the sun, kindness, the passing years and laughter, and tears, books and more books, people who aren’t afraid to wear their hearts on their sleeves and express themselves, the great songwriters I have met in the last couple years and who have reminded me about the power of a song, real soul music, voices in harmony, the sound of an acoustic guitar played the way it should be, people who create rather than imitate, every day another lesson learned, the joy of playing music with like-minded people, and more songs and singers than I could list here.
