About Me

I've always been a traveler. Born in Wisconsin, family moved to California when I was less than a year old, then back to Illinois, then Wisconsin again, then back to California, short stop in Las Vegas, on to Florida, and nowadays, I live in Kentucky. I've lived in the country and the city. I spent time in Australia, Africa, Philippines, Japan, and Jamaica. Through it all, I don't feel like I ever missed "home". I found music everywhere and always felt connected to the people making it. Music was the real constant, and it marked all the significant events in my life.
I've been writing songs since I was a kid. It drives me crazy sometimes, but it takes me places I couldn't go any other way. I guess I look at it as the most complete form of communication, both internal and external, if you do it right. I feel something when I play them, and I sincerely hope you feel something when you listen to them. If you do, let me know. If you don't, hey, at least you didn't have to pay for it. (Thanks, Myspace)
"I have my own particular sorrows, loves, delights; and you have yours. But sorrow, gladness, yearning, hope, love, belong to all of us, in all times and in all places. Music is the only means whereby we feel these emotions in their universality." ~H.A. Overstreet

Where things are

I hope everyone is doing OK considering the mess this world is in these days.  I know that for me, music is the greatest escape when things around me seem to be falling apart.  It's been slow going on...

What makes a song great?

I have often thought that it is what I call, for lack of a better word, 'authenticity'... being that the songwriter has truly connected with something real, and has expressed whatever t...
