Music, honesty, creativity, fun, math, nature. These things matter to me...
Do I like you or do I want to be like you?...
I am very sincere and honest. As with anything this has good and bad sides. But mostly good I think.
I like the intersections between technical things and artistic things.
This is my band: dizzygotheca . We call our music ghostcore. Our first EP was released in December 2007.Dizzygotheca's debut E.P. 'Holding Pattern' is now for sale.Featuring 9 tracks of glitchy beats and dark soundscapes, with 2 stellar remix's by local artists Sub-gusto and Symmetry of Silence.
Each of the 500 copies is limited edition numbered, each hand printed by Dizzygotheca on recycled cardboard sleeves to give you 3 differently designed cds that are something unique, fragile and precious.
You can buy a copy via paypal. Overseas orders please email us to check the postage costs. If you live in Brisbane you can get a copy from Rockinghorse Records in the city.
Please enjoy
I also DJ on and volunteer at Brisbane's best community radio station, 4ZZZ 102.1fm. I currently host Eco Radio each fortnight at 12 noon to 1pm. Covering environmental news as well as activism and interviews.
I've also done music shows on 4ZzZ in the past but at the moment I am just focusing on eco radio. I like a lot of genres, especially electronica, electro rock, pop, Australian darkwave, glam rock, noise, thoughtful folk, alt country, as well as pretty things, soft mellow beautiful things, creative things that push the boundaries of music but are still special. And subscriber requests of course.
4ZZZ has a whole array of other shows focusing on music and important environmental and human issues. So check out the website and myspace: www.4zzzfm.org.au and www.myspace.com/4zzzfm .
I have also done quite a bit of event management. I organised visuals and VJs for 4ZzZ Market Day in 2005 and 2006, curated an emerging art show for Brisbane Ladyfest 2006, helped coordinate a dark electronic show as apart of Straight Out of Brisbane 2006 and have done various other snipets of music related artistic goodness including benefit shows for Amensty International and Engineers Without Borders.
I am doing a PhD at Griffith University's Australian Rivers Institute in Brisbane with an engineering/ecology focus. I am looking at impacts of storm water or urban streams in Queensland and the role that riparian buffers play.
