About Me

Who is Fiend Magazine?? A team of dedicated professionals with strong media backgrounds. The people behind Fiend have worked as editors, designers, journalists, web designers and sales reps at some of Australia’s largest print media companies and are all heavily involved in the dark-alternative community, most since they were teenagers. We know what makes the scene tick, globally and locally, because we’ve part of it. Our readers are our friends and acquaintances, the people we see at clubs, at gigs, in clothing shops and recognise on the street. They’re the ones we chat to and play games against online. Those in the scene tend to ignore or react against a lot of ‘mainstream’, mass-produced media, music, fashion, and celebrities and are constantly seeking out the more obscure, interesting angles of life. There is a genuine lack of media coverage on the things that people in the scene relate to, so we are committed to making Fiend a stylish, seductive and happening magazine that that caters to the needs and interests of the dark-alternative community. My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Australia’s dark-alternative scene is a close knit but wide-ranging community. The scene encompasses a range of age groups – from teenagers to Generation X – and is spread throughout Australia. As a global subculture it’s one of the most recognisable, cohesive and long-surviving since its emergence in the early 80s as ‘darkwave’.The everyday Fiend reader is far from ordinary. Most teenagers (and adults) who ‘turn to the dark side’ are above average intelligence, with some disposable income and an interest in music, the arts, literature and technology.
