Tribute to Zoth Ommog

you really get up, I know your so fuckin beorgeois

About Me

1) I should start out with my first passion Electronic music - for close to 20 years I have been listening to this genre of music. I started first with Depeche Mode, then Renegade Soundwave, The Young Gods, and my passion kept growing over the years to include many bands! By writing to several bands, discovering music from various sources, such as the internet or through my brother, my vast music knowledge grows to include several electronic genres. Today, I am a critic for all the new music that comes out, basically there is bad and good electro. I have spent my time writing reviews or interviewing bands and talking to others about music, but what I really want to do is get involved behind the scenes and find out the real meaning of electro. One day, I hope to write a book about the creative geniuses who inspired the greatness of the older electronic music (1980s to the early 90ies), and inside it I would include personal biographies, pictures and and the influences on their music and what has happened to it today.2) As for further information about me, I graduated a few years ago now from university and have a Communications degree and Classics minor. Over the years, I have discovered a true meaning for watching and analyzing foreign films and criticizing the mainstream Hollywood crap that comes out everyday. I consider my drive in life to be through learning and there would always be a world of discovery in music, movies, literature and people.3) One thing that discourages me about this off "so called industrial scene" today is how many goth, mainstream emo and trendy cyber kids taking it over with their little elitist attitudes thinking they know everything about music when they do not even know how it started out. Thus, the electronic scene is fleeting and really should be discovered for the individual alone to enjoy. I find it sad that once many years ago there was a Zoth Ommog, Machinery Records and countless over labels that contributed to this music and now all these new bands are lost inside the mainstream.4) I will get back to all the comments very soon as I have been busy in my life with my German guy who I fell totally in love with so please understand and I promise to add you as a friend even if you match into that spirit of electro and ebm!!Personally, I am holding onto the spirit of true electro inside me; it is the spirt of a thousand fires for this music that burns brightly inside me, which is creative music today and not the boring, uninspired shit that comes out everyday, such as Zombie Girl or crap like that. I would love to find others out there who feel compelled and enthralled to give their hearts and minds to the older scene and to any type of creative electro?! So whether it is listening to music or even making it, there has to be a few people out there that realize that they should never forget the oldskool scene and the meaning of the purity of electro music that makes Zoth Ommog such a worthwhile label in the 90ies?! ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------- PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS *NOT* TALLA 2XLC (the one who made Zoth Ommog), I specifically MADE this page as a tribute to a great label (now deceased) that I love(d) and respect(ed) for introducing me (and the world) to great bands, such as Leaether strip, Klutae, psychopomps, Armageddon Dildos, Orange Sector, XMTP, Bigod 20... and many others. I hope others out there share my passion and lust for this electronic music and remember/honour the seal of electro purity that made Zoth Ommog-- 'MUSIC RESEARCH'

My Interests

Foreign Cinema (French New Wave, New German Cinema, New and Old Japanese Horror, Chinese martial arts, Italian Neorealism...), Role Playing Videogames (final Fantasy series, Balders Gate, Secret of Mana (many others, especially on the GBA), writing, art, many types of electronic music, computer, reading....One added thing I dislike is guitars in industustrial/ebm, unless they are sampled like Klute or can use them like kmfdm. I love the pure electro sound.Right now I in Second Life for a few months I have been djing at Club Industry (http://75.126.100.42:8052/every Friday 10-1 AM)this would be California time so basically Second Life time. I have my own stream so I can play thematic electro sets and have a group called Dj Khaos Kontrol if anyone wants to search me out in Second Life. I always take my music serious so I dj what I like and in the electro genre I love so if you need something different and something oldschool or delves into pure electro (both old and new) you need to come to my nights there OR listen on winamp as my music taste is always original!I was kicked out of Neurobeat this week (March 28th) due to Politics! I found out that certain people were more faithful to friends that had no real meaning than friends that showed their dedication to them over the years and this makes me not want to deal with them. I only have one life and want to find worthwhile individuals who stand up for their beliefs and never give up - that includes in life and with real friends.I am a Dj(ane) with over 20 years experience in all forms of electro and my heart is always into that great e-reKtronic beats! Right now I am looking for any good radio stations, clubs in SL to dj at as I appreciate listeners who share in my taste and have a passion for talking about music.

I'd like to meet:

like minded (into same movies and music--especially anyone who represents the old spirit of ebm), educated, humourous individuals that like sharing and are easy to talk to.

Television:

Hardly anything these days really but I still like survivor and that Big Bang Theory is really good.

Books:

Greek and Roman mythology and older poems, such as Homer-The Iliad, Odyssey, Ovid- Metamorphoses, Euripides, Aristophanes, Plautus, Virgil- Aeneid, Hesiod, Shakespeare, Plato, Aristotle, Rousseau... I had a friend introduce to me Jostein Gardener -Sarah's World about the history of Philosophy and it was really enlightening and just a run through of the humanities. I highly recommend this one.

Heroes:

Film Directors such as, Werner Herzog, Rainer Fassbinder, Youssef Chahine, Pasolini, Frederico Fellini, Akira Kurosawa, Truffaut, Ozu, Godot, Takashi, Miike...and others who make movies besides mainstream Hollywood movies. Today, I am updating my profile and havent found any good movies recently that left some lasting impression but I am still searching through the pile of Hollywood bullshit presented to us everyday. For music artists,I really admire those that have the will and passion to keep going through out the years, such as Claus Larsen, David Thrussell, Dirk Ivens, Philippe Fichot and many others who make hardhitting, experimental, electronic music that carries a message! Remember if you have a band today try to be original and not boring!
