About Me

Born in 1972 in Rimini, Sam has become interested in the sound of the Hammond Organ from his teens. Originally self taught on piano and organ he later completed a degree in music (Dams), attended the Siena Jazz clinics and studied in Milan with renowned Italian jazz pianist Franco D'andrea at CPM. From the year 2000 Sam has lived in London. Here he met the legendary english organist Mike Carr and had lessons with him while completing a degree in jazz music at Middlesex University (First Class Honours). During a short stay in NY had organ lessons with Doc Lonnie Smith. Today Sam is in regular demand as a jazz organist by many jazz musicians active in the London area. He has played with: Andy Sheppard, Dave o'Higgins, Alex Garnett, Brandon Allen, Vassilis X, Jim Mullen, Steve Fishwick, Nigel Price, Dave Cliff, Gareth Lokraine, Cameron Pierre, Colin Oxley, Clark Tracey. Sam has performed in some of the most prestigious jazz clubs: Jazz Cafe, Ronnie Scott, Vortex Jazz Club, Pizza Express (SOHO), Royal Fest Hall, Royal National Theatre and many important UK Jazz festivals: London Jazz Festival, Ealing Jazz Festival, Isle of Wight Jazz Festival, Glasgow Jazz Festival and Coventry Jazz Festival.
