Massimo "Max" Paparella, classe 1975, pianista, arrangiatore e compositore iscritto SIAE con una passione particolare per l'Organo Hammond e gli strumenti vintage. Ho un esperienza decennale nel settore dalla musica sia come musicista live che studio. Inizialmente dal genere rock progressive (1993 - 1996) sono passato ad approfondire i miei studi nell'ambito del jazz e blues (1997 - 2001) suonando in diversi gruppi. In particolare ho avuto uno studio di registrazione dal 1999 al 2004 a Bologna (MJA Recording Studio) con altri 2 soci, dove ho svolto l'attività prevalente di compositore, arrangiatore musicale e successivamente come assistente fonico. Nello stesso periodo ho collaborato inoltre con alcuni DJ di Latte&Miele e di Tam Tam Network per alcune produzioni nell'ambito della musica Dance e House. Terminata l'esperienza con lo studio MJA ho continuato l'attività di arrangiatore, perfezionando gli studi pianistici jazz. La mia formazione musicale è stata influenzata inizialmente dai Beatles, successivamente la passione per il jazz mi ha fatto conoscere Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea e i Weather Report dando una svolta decisiva riguardo l'indirizzo dei miei studi futuri. Da iniziale purista jazz ho subito le influenze funk di Tom Scott and L.A.Express, James Brown, Rufus Thomas, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, George Duke, Earth Wind & Fire, Kool & The Gang, fino ai più recenti ed attuali James Taylor Quartet, Incognito e Jamiroquai. Attualmente sto lavorando ad un progetto personale nell'ambito della musica jazz-funk (Max & The Groove Project), oltre a svolgere l'attività di arrangiatore e strumentista in studio. Parallelamente sto lavorando ad un progetto in ambito hip-hop/soul con due miei cari amici e musicisti di vero talento quali il chitarrista Simone Stefanini e la cantante Patty Erario entrambi membri del gruppo rock/blues "Nove Vite". Ultimamente ho iniziato una collaborazione con Luca "Tornado" Testoni (chitarrista "Skiantos") per la realizzazione di colonne sonore televisive per RTI S.p.A. (Gruppo Mediaset) e con un mio caro amico, Dj Luca Asta per produzioni dance,house, chillout e lounge (PAPStyle Project) con l'etichetta Synestesya.
Massimo "Max" Paparella, born in 1975, pianist, arranger and SIAE-registered composer with a special passion for Hammond organ and vintage instruments. I have ten years' experience in the music field, both as a live and studio musician. I began playing progressive rock (1993 - 1996), before focusing my studies on jazz and blues (1997 - 2001), playing in different groups. Between 1999 and 2004 I ran a recording studio in Bologna, Italy (MJA Recording Studio) with two associates, working mainly as a composer, arranger and later as sound assistant. During the same period I worked with DJs from the national and local radio stations Latte&Miele and Tam Tam Network on various dance and house music productions. Following my experience with Studio MJA, I continued working as an arranger, as well as furthering my studies in jazz piano. My musical education was initially influenced by the Beatles. Later my passion for jazz led me to discover Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea and Weather Report, bringing about a decisive change in the course of my future studies. Since my initial pure jazz beginnings, I have been influenced by the funk music of Tom Scott and L.A.Express, James Brown, Rufus Thomas, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, George Duke, Earth Wind & Fire, Kool & The Gang, as well as the more recent sounds of the James Taylor Quartet, Incognito and Jamiroquai. I am currently working on a personal jazz-funk project (Max & The Groove Project) and also hip-hop/soul project with my two great friends like Simone Stefanini, very talent guitarist and Patty Erario, beautiful jazz/blues/rock singer, in addition to my work as an arranger and studio instrumentalist. My latest collaborations are with Luca "Tornado" Testoni (guitarist of "Skiantos") on film and television music for RTI S.p.A. (Mediaset Group), with Dj Luca Asta for dance,house, chillout, and lounge music productions (PAPStyle Project) with the label Synestesya.
