About Me

Well lets see . . . . I have been out shooting music, updating www.sol-a-koa.com, doing some write ups of shows/events, and getting ready for some doc. projects. Recent I completed a documentary: Echoes of Yourself in the Mirror (about the AIDS epidemic and the response to it currently as well as historically). Also www.9ThoughtsAFewQuestions.com is up and running, soon to get a make over and some new functionality. This clips is from Woodstock '99, it's Fatboy Slim's handoff to Dave Ralph - they rocked it 100,000 strong. This is a small portion of a documentary I shot over number of years titled "Live Music, Community & Social Conscience". There will be multiple segments to follow this one on YouTube.com suscribe at YouTube and they'll be waiting for you when you login. This segment contains music from Keller Williams, interviews with BB King & Steve Kimock, Terrance Simien, Victoria Clamp & the Tom Tom Club, along coverage of Woodstock, and Hookaville with Arlo Guthrie & David Grisman. Along with appearances by Jewel, ICP, Creed, Lit, Sevendust and plenty of people you will probably recognize. I hope that is calls you out to go see some live music.Other project I am currently working on is a short Eye Wide Open: Live Spent Paying for War, and a String Cheese clip for LB & Backburner Productions. Some Hookahville footage, and some other music I have just started looking a now.9 Thoughts, 7 Questions & Faith (is a film based on my thesis project. www.9thoughts7questions.com is a percusor to 9 Thoughts, 7 Questions & Faith a documentary concerning various religious, this clip is from one of the (9) lay people that took part in the website aspect of my thesis. This is interview is with Nima Bhutia who currently travels to festivals for his business. He was raised Buddhist. Nima was born in East India in the town of Darjeeling, he is of Pakistani and Tibetan descent. So his family has generations of ancestors reaching back in the tradition of Hindism as well as Buddhism.

My Interests

Music, indigenous culture shared with me by the people who live it and bless me with their insights ~ not that sh*t that comes from armchair encyclopia Britanica types. These interviews happened at Frog Island as did all performances. We are talking about what live music and the culture surrounding it has give to each of us. This Arlo doing "When A Soldier Makes it Home", Keller Williams doing "In A Big Country" with throat trumpet, along with the Howling Diablos at the Blind Pig. This is the same night that John Sinclair sat in with them. Sarah Klein interviews Jim Duzlo, and George Klein at Frog Island concerning the ideas surrounding what live music offer to people that CD, and other media does not. Lonnie Jordan of WAR gives some insights into the 60's and how those times spoke through the inspirations incorporated into WAR's music.

I'd like to meet:

The road with a smile and a spirit that calls me home everyday that I get to head out into new possibilities that travel and great music always bring to me.
This Neville Staple of the Specials doing "Ghost Town" live in Detroit during the Concert of Colors.
