About Me

I am a San Francisco-based photographer specializing in the performing arts and hospitality industry.Since I was 22 years old I have worked as the house photographer of the legendary Fillmore Auditorium, shooting bands both onstage and off. Since then I have become the head photographer for Bill Graham Presents, working for the house shooting musicians at such venues as The Warfield Theater, Shoreline Ampitheatre, and The Mountain Winery.But my heart is in stand-up comedy, and it is here I have made my niche, with ongoing exhibitions of my portraiture at Gotham Comedy Club in NYC, The Improv in Hollywood, The Punch Line in San Francisco, and The Comedy Store in Sydney, Australia. I have exhibited for the last four years at the prestigious Montreal Just for Laughs Festival and had a solo show at the 2006 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.My work has been published in Rolling Stone, Time, Spin, Newsweek, Entertainment Weekly, Source, Vibe, Esquire, Playboy, and over 100 other publications.Visit my website www.DanDion.com to see more of my work.
