About Me

'ENVY.. Often people envy someone else's life. Perhaps if they walked one day in the shoes of the one they envy, they would appreciate the life they have.' ~Andrew

MY HERITAGE

~

Well, my curiosity tends to get me into some strange situations. I have a great love for life, lotsa energy and was blessed with good brain chemicals so I wake up ready to go. Sometimes my optimistic outlook makes me come across as being superficial, but I doubt I'll let it stop me from being me and offering encouraging words to people. My tolerance to negativity is set on low so I avoid people who are cranky and out to be obnoxious, rather than waste time with meaningless confrontations. My twenties so far has been spent attending college, working, traveling, spending time with my horse and all that goes along with that. It's been fun.. and rewarding since I've gained far more during this time period than I feel I've missed. Plus, I live with three female roomies so there's always something wacky happenin'. I've aquired a bachelor's degree in business, as well as in molecular biology. My plan was to shoot for a masters in genetics*virology, but unfortunately that didn't work out. Sleep was becoming an issue since it's endless hours of studying and I couldn't drop work hours or I'd starve.. So! I decided to take the route which is second nature to me and stretch my brain futher in other areas of biology, mix in some environmental and oceanography interests too! OoOo yeah, one more thingy.. I love nothing more than having a good belly laugh and pulling off a well orchestrated prank ;)

'Nothin is predestined. The obstacles of your past can be the gateways that lead to new beginnings'

~Ralph Blum

~*~

'Always you have been told that work is a curse and labour a misfortune. But I say to you that when you work you fulfil a part of earth’s furthest dream, assigned to you when that dream was born, And in keeping yourself with labour you are in truth loving life, And to love life through labor is to be intimate with life’s inmost secret'

~Kahlil Gibran

~*~

'A friend is one to whom one may pour out all the contents of one's heart, chaff and grain together, knowing that the gentlest of hands will take and sift it, keep what is worth keeping and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away'

~Arabian Proverb

'I believe in the fundamental truth of all great religions of the world. I believe that they are all God-given and I believe that they were necessary for the people to whom these religions were revealed. And I believe that if only we could all of us read the scriptures of the different faiths from the standpoints of the followers of these faiths, we should find that they were at bottom all one and were all helpful to one another'

~mahatma gandhi

~*~

'A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty'

~Albert Einstein

My Interests

Myspace Layouts
*pfft* Everything interests me. On one hand I'm a spitfire full of energy who has an insatiable lust for learning and on the other hand I'm content relaxing on a comforter staring up at the underside of leaves or at the stars. I like history; attending cultural events, museums and I love ballet, gymnastics and dancin'. I LOVE outdoorsie activies; hiking, running, biking, horsebackriding, gardening, the shore, beach volleyball, swimming, boating, softball. Connecting with nature on a daily basis keeps me in balance. I wish to visit every state across the country. That doesn't mean just passin' through.. I hafta do a lil exploring in each of them for it to count! Topics which really interest me are; preventative health measures, environmental issues, nutrition and God.

PAHN MySpace Group

I'd like to meet:

I like receiving notes on any topic so if you have something to say or a joke to share, don't be shy!

Nick Scott's site for competitive wheelchair bodybuilders

Music:

I love all music.. it's the gateway to your soul. I was taught violin as soon as I was able to hold the bow, played clarinet throughout my school years and piano on the side, so classical music has a hold on my heart. My friend Mike, who is a very talented musician, has been giving me guitar lessons on occasion. Growing up, the Beatles, Stones, Clapton.. mostly british rock was played in my house by my older siblings so I'm partial to that. And I like almost all of the Jersey bands~ Bon Jovi, Alicia Keys, etc. Nickelback, Aerosmith, Coldplay and U2 are some of my other favorites at the moment and I'm a succa for love songs~.Three Days Grace

Movies:

The Last Of The Mohicans is my all time favorite. I like comedy and pg kinda stuff. Horror flicks give me nightmares for weeks so I hold my ears and close my eyes as I'm passing through the living room if one of my roomies happens to be watching something scarey.

Television:

I don't often get chance to watch tv, but if I did.. I would try to catch Smallville, Ghost Whisperer, Criss Angel, House, the history or travel channel, vh1, According to Jim, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, CNN, Wheel of Fortune, 1 vs 100, Deal or No Deal, Will & Grace, Sex in the City. Or sports events such as tennis matches, DEVILS hockey, surfing, womens figure skating, gymnastics, snowboard*half pipe, equestrian, strongman competitions, any of the Olympics and Bull Riding. OoOo yeah, I have a thing for Superman & MONSTER trucks!

Books:

I'm generally drawn to books that include personal growth, life struggles, biographies, history, science, spirituality, adventure, health, alternative medicine and yessss romance! Gotta luv Julie Garwood :)~ I just bought a woodworking book and I'm gonna make a heart shelf with lil compartments. Now I just need to find someone with a saw.. . .

Heroes:

Jesus. He's taught me to listen to my heart's whispers for guidance when my judgement becomes clouded and for giving me the strength to stay true to myself. All three of my parents who have also lived their own versions of the ultimate sacrific. I suppose other heros of mine would be those who make a difference in this world on a meaningful level such as:.... ..

People Against Global Warming

Come join us ....make a world of difference
and help keep Mother Earth clean & green!
