I am a professional percussionist/drummer based in London
I have studied extensively in Cuba, and also Turkey and Morroco. My goal is to investigate as many cultures/musics as is humanly possible within one lifetime!
I am continually planning new trips...... and I love hand drumming
With "Semta Quartet," (you should be hearing us right now) I attempt to take the instruments to new places, without losing a sense of tradition.
Having spent many months in Cuba recently, I now have a traditional cuban sextet with some fantastic musicians which include Rowland Sutherland, Dorance Lorza, and Felix Gonzales .....click on top friend "Pena,"
I am also currently collaberating/performing with Shona Brown (see top friend) on a folk/world fusion album project which will be recorded next year
