Steve Gadd (born April 9, 1945 in Rochester, New York) is a very well known session drummer, mainly known for work with Paul Simon, Steely Dan, Joe Cocker, Bob James, Chick Corea, Eric Clapton, Eddie Gomez, Manhattan Transfer, Michael Urbaniak, Steps Ahead, and many others. Gadd is arguably the most recorded drummer in history.
After 30 plus years of playing there is a lot of territory to cover, classic recordings and lots of wonderful performances. There

To this day Steve continues to play great music with artist's such as James Taylor and Eric Clapton, to experience either of these acts live
is amazing. 2003 saw Steve receive Zildjian's American Drummers Achievement Award, a night highlighting Steve's contribution to both drumming and music for the last thirty years.
2004 saw the release of Zildjian's and Steve's Session Custom cymbal line, Steve also completed Episode 2 of his Mission From Gadd clinic tour as well as PASIC 2005. In 2006, Steve Gadd played at Groove Night during NAMM, and recorded Surprise with Paul Simon and Chick Corea. Then, he also put ona spectacular Mission From Gadd III and tours with Paul Simon and James Taylor! Let us not forget that Steve also did a week at the Blue Note with Chick Corea's Leprechaun Band. After the Winter NAMM Show in 2007, he played with Joe Sample & The Crusaders, Chuck Mangione, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Joe Brucato, and Russ Miller. Last but not least, 3 three stunning performances (and one clinic) in Athens, Greece with his new band Steve Gadd & Friends. 2008, there is much work with Paul Simon, James Taylor, and Eddie Gomez already in the works!
