Emma was born in Scotland in 1978 and started playing the drums and percussion when she was twelve years old. In Scotland she started to work as a drummer in the musicals Oliver and West side Story.
At the age of 16 she was accepted onto the BA music degree course at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester where she started the four year course at the age of seventeen. That same year she won a scholarship from the Virtuosi Society in Edinburgh for two thousand pounds to buy a Marimba.
In 1995 she began her degree studying with Ian Wright, Paul Patrick, Graham C Johns, Liz Gilliver and the acclaimed English drummer Dave Hassell.
During the four years at the RNCM Emma took part in master classes with Evelyn Glennie (Marimba) Jim Chapin (Moeller, Drum Kit) Birger Sulsbruck(Congas) Victor Mendoza (Jazz Vibraphone) Ney Rosauro (Brazilian Percussion) Ed Thigpen (Drum kit) Nick Petrella (Snare Drum) Paul Clarvis (Drum Kit) Kevin Hathaway (Orchestral Percussion) Barak Schmool (African Drumming) Eric Sammut (Marimba) to mention only a few.
Whilst studying for her degree in she entered the prestigious British competition The BBC Young Musician of the Year where she reached the percussion finals, which was aired on National television.
She was also invited as a marimba soloist with the RNCM Wind Orchestra in 1998.
In Manchester Emma worked as a freelance musician with the following;
Drummer: for the musicals Oklahoma and Me and My Girl. Also in the Zak Barrett Jazz quartet/quintet.
And as a classical percussionist with the following orchestras:
The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, The London Bach Orchestra, The Manchester Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, The Raymond Gubbay Orchestra, The Northern Sinfonia and the Northern Chamber Orchestra.
In the year 2000 Emma moved to Madrid, Spain where she began to work as a teacher in Neopercusion running their junior department and ensemble. She also worked as a freelance classical percussionist with the following orchestras:
La Orquesta Nacional de Espa..a (ONE), La Orquesta Sinfonica del Principado de Asturias (OSPA), La Orquesta Sinfonica de la Comunidad de Madrid, amongst others.
As a drummer she has worked in the two major theatres in Madrid. Starting with CATS in Coliseum theatre in the year 2003 until September of the same year where she moved on to MAMMA MIA in the theatre Lope De Vega. In Mamma Mia Emma worked both as a drummer and percussionist.
She has also worked promoting many famous brands either in percussion groups or as a solo artist such as Carlsberg, Mahou, Kronnenberg, Bosch, Schwepps, Renault etc.
In July 2005 Emma was invited as a drum kit teacher to the percussion festival Ritmo Vital where she was able to study with Peter Erskine who was the star invite of the event.
Emma was a founding member of the percussion group Bubidon together with the renowned percussionists Sergey Saprichef (Hand Drumming) and Rogerio de Souza (Brazilian Percussion).
She is also a founding member of the percussion theatre group Ritmosofia, along with Sergey Saprichef and Pau Martinez (Congas, Cajon Flamenco)
In 2006 Emma also began to work freelance with the Big Band del Maestro Leiva.
She toured with the Spanish Pop Band La Union, featured as a drummer percussionist and backing singer, and recorded their live concert for Antena 3 the Spanish TV station.
In the same year she was featured en the front page of the Spanish drum magazine Todo Percusion
She is currently starting the 2007 tour with La Union on kit and backing vocals.
Emma is also working as the percussionist and singer for Los Andes Jazz Project with the worldwide acclaimed Andean drummer Yayo Morales.
Emma is endorser for Mapex drums, Meinl Percussion and Cymbals, Vater Drumsticks and Remo drumheads.

Emma empezo a tocar la bateria y percusion con doce años en su pais de nacimiento Escocia. A los 16 ya estaba aceptada en la Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) para estudiar la carrera superior de percusion. El mismo año gano una beca del ¨Virtuosi Society¨ de tres mil euros. Tambien empezaba a trabajar profesionalmente como baterista para los musicales Oliver and West Side Story.
En el año 1995 se fue a Manchester a comenzar la carrera donde estudio con Ian Wright, Paul Patrick, Graham. C Johns, Liz Gilliver y el reconocido bateria Ingles, Dave Hassell. Tambien durante los cuatro años en el RNCM asistio a las siguientes masterclasses: Jim Chapin (Moeller, Bateria) Evelyn Glennie (Marimba), Birger Sulsbruck (Percusion Latina), Victor Mendoza (Jazz Vibrafono), Ney Rosauro ( Marimba, Percusion Brasileña), Ed Thigpen (Bateria), Nick Petrella (Caja), Jim Kilpatrick (Caja) Paul Clarvis (Bateria), Kevin Hathaway (Percusion Clasica), Barak Schmool (Africano), Eric Sammut (Marimba), Leigh Howard Stevens (Marimba), Chris Lamb (Clasica) etc.
Mientras estudiaba la carrera se presento al prestigioso concurso nacional ..El joven musico del año de la BBC. Llego a ser finalista como percusionista. Dicho evento fue emitido por la BBC.
A traves del exito del concurso estuvo invitada como solista con la RNCM Wind Orchestra en el 1998.
En Manchester trabajo freelance como baterista en los musicales Oklahoma y Me and My Girl. Tambien en el cuarteto de Jazz del reconocido saxofonista Ingles Zak Barrett del 96 al 98. Y como percusionista en el Royal Liverpool Philarmonic Orchestra, London Bach Orchestra, Manchester Philarmonic Concert Orchestra, Raymond Gubbay Orchestras, Northern Sinfonia, Northern Chamber Orchestra, etc.
Tambien del 97 al 99 fue profesora de Bateria en el Opus Escuela de Musica.
Llegando a España en el 2000 comenzo a trabajar como profesora en Neopercusion y hoy en dia es coordinadora del departamento elemental y el ensemble de Neopercusion. Ha trabajado con las siguientes orquestas; La Orquesta Nacional de España (ONE), La Orquesta Sinfonica del Principado de Asturias (OSPA), Orquesta Sinfonica de Cordoba, La Orquesta Sinfonica de la Comunidad de Madrid, etc.
Como baterista ha trabajado en el musical CATS en el Teatro Coliseum de Madrid desde finales del 2003 hasta que entro como baterista y percusionista en el musical de ABBA, Mamma Mia en el Teatro Lope de Vega de Madrid.
Tambien ha trabajado promocionando los siguientes marcas: Carlsberg, Mahou, Kronnenberg, Bosch, Schwepps, Renault etc.
En Julio del 2005 fue invitada como profesora de Bateria a la convencion de percusion y bateria Ritmo Vital en Mallorca. Alli, como artista especial, estuvo invitado Peter Erskine, de quien Emma recibio clases particulares.
Fue miembro original del grupo Bubidon junto a Sergey Sapricheff y Rogerio de Souza.
Actualmente es miembro original del espectaculo Ritmosofia junto a Sergey Sapricheff y Pau Martinez.
Desde Abril del 2006 Emma es la Baterista/Percusionista y Corista del grupo La Union, con quienes hizo la gira del 2006 y tambien grabo un concierto en directo para Antena 3.
En el 2006 fue portada de la revista Todo Percusion.
Emma trabaja freelance con la Big Band del Maestro Leiva.
Actualmente se encuentra haciendo la gira del 2007 de La Union, como baterista y corista. Y tambien es percusionista y corista de los Andes Jazz Project del Artista Yayo Morales.
Emma es endorser de las marcas Mapex , Meinl Percusion y Platos, baquetas Vater y parches Remo.
