About Me

Welcome to my page!I am a Historical Reenactor of the French and Indian War through War of 1812 periods, I create traditional leatherwork, such as hunting bags, cartridge boxes and knife sheaths. I have crewed on a War of 1812 era 3 pounder field gun, and I spent 4 years as a Confederate Artilleryman on a 12 pounder mountain howitzer. I also spent 10 years reenacting a Danish-Irish Viking. My ancestry is Scots-Irish on my Mother's side, and mainly English on my Father's. There are interesting people on both side of the family tree, such as a pirate who had the misfortune of being hung in chains. My Father's side was supposedly started by two English Highwaymen named Finche. In order to keep the Crown's noose from his neck and to win the girl he loved, the oldest was forced to change his name and migrate to the American Colonies. Many of my family, being from South Carolina, served in the Confederate Army during the late "War of Northern Agression."I am married to a beautiful wife, have three kids and three step-kids (Whom I consider as my own). I experiment with the early ways of life, from foods, crafts, and survival skills, and enjoy going out into the woods with just my musket, my period gear and clothing, and trying to get a feel for the lifestyle of 18th Century Frontier America.I am also an aspiring writer, with a successful publication of one of my short stories in On The Trail Magazine. I am an amateur artist, and have had my artwork grace the cover of the Society For Creative Anachronism's monthly publication,Tournaments Illuminated,as well as local newsletters.
