The upper Haight was losing. The I-Beam was gone, Nightbreak on it's last leg of the second life..
Very few had faith in RocknRoll let alone punk rock.The foremetioned cats believed it was possible. Danny B (A.Y.C.E.) ,gave my first vote of confidence by saying "Yeah, You can do it! And we'll help you! Danny B. Devon, and Li'l Anthony did just that. First by referring numerous bands my way and always on hand for Moral Support and good company.
Matt Shapiro (Fuckface) & Dave Clark 3(Mountain Pig,Tres Daves) worked in the mix.. as Matt volunteered to check I.Ds at the door & Dave offered his sound tech skills. Hector offered non-stop support thru loaning me amps, and coming up with continuous promo to get things off the ground. Of course none of us were recieving pay in the beginning. Soon it was obvious my "Punkrock is gonna fly" only weeks after Mr.O, head booker at Nightbreak said to me "Your punkrock ain't gonna fly". My payment for bringin in business was a bar shift during my shows. Matt started to get 5 bucks an hour, half the normal door guy fee. Nightbreak and the undergroud Music Scene in SanFrancisco would have died long before if not for the above mentioned and crew.
George Lazaneo a friend and former colleague from the I-Beam also provided Mega-support. Although George
managed a much larger venue for bands like Slayer, The Damned, etc.. When the superiors at Nighbreak started to cop a 'tude, He offered his club to a few times with words of support, "tell them to Fuck off, bring it to my club."
