Woorden schieten te kort bij dit album van Sonic Litter. Messcherpe riffs, oerstrakke ritmesectie, Ivy Green-achtige vocalen en een aantal songs waar je mee voor de dag kan komen. Songs als ‘I Got Nothing To Lose’ en ‘Sonic Sound Of Rock And Roll’ mogen zelfs als klassiekers bestempeld worden. De vier hagenezen, alle oude rotten uit de Haagsche Punk/Rock/Rock’n’Roll scene, hebben dus een uitstekend product op de markt gebracht. Het enige nadeel is dat er slechts acht nummers op staan, want dit smaakt naar meer. Als de plaatselijke profclub afgelopen seizoen maar half zo goed gespeeld hadden als Sonic Litter op dit album, waren zij nooit gedegradeerd. (Marcel Bizarro)

Sonic Litter is vernoemd naar de sixtiesgroepen The Sonics en The Litter. Het is dan ook meteen duidelijk in welke hoek de band uit Den Haag gezocht moet worden: garagerock. Sonic Litter is al sinds 1996 actief, maar Sonic Sound of Rock N Roll is pas hun cd. Wel één dat (naar eigen zeggen) in minder dan 32 uur is opgenomen en gemixt. En zo hoort het natuurlijk ook bij dit type bands. De acht nummers zijn rauw, de gitaren scheuren dat het een lieve lust is en de refreintjes nodigen direct uit tot meeschreeuwen. Sonic Litter is hard op weg om de Golden Earring van de garagerock te worden. Met Sonic Sound of Rock N Roll kunnen ze weer jaren vooruit. Rete-eerlijke rock-’n-roll!

Het Haagse Sonic Litter is wat mij betreft een schoolvoorbeeld van hoe een band de aandacht van een recensent moet pakken. Om te beginnen is er het sublieme hoesje dat professioneel en opvallend oogt en precies de sfeer uitstraalt die de band met zijn muziek nastreeft, waarover later meer. Daarnaast is het kwartet er in geslaagd om in de boel in "less than 32 hours" (naar eigen zeggen) in te spelen, op te nemen en af te mixen. Lekker low budget, maar desondanks met een heerlijk geluid. Nu ben ik sowieso altijd snel gecharmeerd van het meer rammelende geluid, veel liever dan die steriel overgeproduceerde troep. Als laatst klinkt alles ook nog eens totaal niet kaaskoppig, waarmee ik doel op het steenkolenengels en de gruwelijke kneuterigheid waarmee 95% van de Nederlandse bands op de proppen komt. Sonic Litter klinkt op Sonic Sound Of Rock N Roll doorleefd en authentiek en bewijst dat met acht garagerock liedjes van hoog niveau. Vlammende gitaarsolo’s en makkelijk meezingbare refreinen, niets om de wereld te schokken, maar een meer dan smakelijk hapje van en voor stoere mannen met opgestroopte mouwen.

De Haagse garagerockband Sonic Litter is één van de meest constante factoren in het Haagse livecircuit. Al tien jaar brengt deze band vette vuige rocksongs in de stijl van The Fuzztones en The Stooges. Op het nieuwe album ‘Sonic Sound Of Rock ‘n Roll’ staan acht nummers, waarvan zes eigen composities en twee covers van sixtiesbands The Sonics en The Chob. Maar het is vooral de titeltrack die rockt als een gek. Door de acht nummers binnen 32 uur op te nemen en af te mixen heeft de band op deze CD helemaal niks van het livegevoel hoeven inleveren. Sonic Litter are a modern-day Rock & Roll band, their very name being merely a salute to their roots. Their sound is often described as Stooges and MC5 influenced too, which is definitely selling them short though.
It's all about four guys having fun on stage. No-nonsense lyrics, some great riffs, catchy chorusses, solid bass-lines and pounding drums delivered by veterans with a youthful spirit from the healthy The Hague rock-scene. Oh, and the audience loving it as well of course......
What more could you ask for if you're into raw, honest, good-time Rock & Roll ?
Hopefully 'Sonic Sound of Rock 'n' Roll' is just a foretaste because song-wise those guys surely seem capable of so much more even.

The wild psychedelic sixties Garagepunk quartet from the Nether(beat)lands
Sonic Litter ( a fusion in spirit of The Sonics and The Litter ) formed 30 years after rumble of '66. Inspired by outfits like The Fuzztones and The Nomads.The idea of continuing the mindset of 1966, the very year of US Garagepunk, is still relevant today. Judging by the enthusiastic crowd reactions the band usually gets at their gigs, the formula is still working too.Authenticity returns in both the band's raw sound and their distinctive R&R image. They are also not afraid to update things slightly. For instance influences like British punk, but also later rock sounds, are quite apparent in their music.The band's finest hour thus far has been the release of their self financed 10" "Hallucination Generation" ( on the The Hague Motorwolf label ) which was very well received within Garagepunk circles.

...Holland's Sonic Litter manages to pay tribute to five groups at once: their name cites two; the song choice ("Highway 69") covers the Fuzztones; the vocals bring back Sky Saxon's seedy, off-key wailings; and the instrumentation evokes classic MC5 (review by Bill Kopp)
