Was it punk? Was it the ska that set the SecondHand SuperHeroes in motion? What is known, is that they combined it, and the rest ishistory.
The SecondHand SuperHeroes started in the spring of 2005, as a three piece, playing songs by bands as Operation Ivy and Reel BigFish, by roughing them up a bit with a guitar, hitting them with a trumpet and finishing the process with a good deal of thumpingbass guitar. Later additions to the band featured a devoted singer and lead to the recently finished quest for a drummer. As withso many things, third time’s the charm, and charm is what Rico is all about. Oh, and did we mention a trombonist? It’s true, andit’s every bit as good as it sounds.
With the city of Delft as their home base, Frank, Raquel, Mike, Harro, Joska and Ricardo are creating song after song, andfurthermore give their interpretations of classics like Fairground Attraction’s Perfect. Their inspiration comes from all kinds ofmadness, including the band called just that. It’s fast, it swings and most of all, it’s utterly danceable.
With their first demo finished in august 2006 and an increasing number of live performances under their belt, the SecondHandSuperHeroes are set to take on the Saturday night dives and clubs to show that they mean business.
