About Me

Check out the new Website at www.AACFINC.ORG . It's time to get serious!

THIS IS THE CNN iREPORT.COM VIDEO. IF YOU'VE NOT SEEN IT, I'VE MADE SOME IMPROVEMENTS TO IT. ENJOY! ..
Aid for Autistic Children Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit (approval soon) who's mission is to assist families across the U.S. caring for children or adults that have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Our main goal is to give help NOW. We applaud the efforts of other organizations that fund research for a potential cure, however, our concern is with the families facing hardship and crisis "right now" because of not having access to (or support for) early intervention. This combination of circumstances creates unrelenting poverty for these families. They need help NOW. We will give the assistance in the form of an actual cash grant. The clients needs will be met "right then". No government red tape; no preferences; no hassles. Each family will be evaluated on a case by case basis, ensuring the funds go directly to what will end the hardship or crisis. Eventually we want to do more than just give these families money. We would also like to provide a familiar place for them to develop the skills they really need to keep the crisis situations at a minimum. If you're still reading this, you are definitely someone with a good heart that surely wants to be a part of making a difference in these families lives. Take the next step and find out why we are so passionate about this.

Why are we doing this? Simple. A.A.C.F. was founded by me - Michael Buckholtz. My family has been coping with ASD for the past 35 plus years. This condition affects my father, both brothers, my nephew and me. I have Asperger syndrome (a high functioning form of autism). WOW! Bet that came as a surprise! Someone with autism trying to help others with autism! My parents went bankrupt dealing with this condition. I've dedicated the remainder of my life to Autism Awareness and creating a national 'Safety Net' fund for families caring for their autistic children. I was one of those children and my mother sacrificed everything to help me. Thankfully, I grew up to become a record producer and met all kinds of famous people in the music industry. Autistic kids can grow to learn amazing things like I did, but, not all will be as fortunate as that. That's why I feel it's important there be some kind of financial cushion for them. It's the least I can do even though I continue to cope. I have to do something to help these families because I know what it's like - plain and simple.

How can you help? Okay. You are more than willing to help if you're down to reading this section. Here's the deal: In-kind donations and (or) purchasing our products. As a non-profit business, we are limited in what we can do to generate funds for the purpose you just read about in the first paragraph. We only desire the involvement of those with purity in motive. My mission is grassroots and is being built from the bottom up and not the top down. Ordinary everyday parents (mostly mothers) caring for their autistic child(ren) understand what it takes and that's who I listen to. Many in my community have told me this is a special and unique thing I'm doing. I just believe this is a service that's missing and someone's got to provide it. It's that simple.

How do you donate? Couple of ways. One: You can send it to us directly using "snail mail" (U.S. Postal Service). I'll give that address in a minute. Remember, what you do from this point on will literally change the life of an autistic child. Next: You can donate with your debit/credit card through PayPal or the purchase of an item. It's hassle free, secure and if you purchase an item, you'll recieve something useful and cool that reminds you of your generosity. It's that easy! So, please, don't be shy. One dollar to twenty-five dollars will go a long way to helping a family remain on track in helping their autistic child get the attention he or she needs from family. It's all about alleviating the financial burden enough to concentrate on what's really important.

How much can you donate? This is not about any specific amount. It's making sure I can really help these families. I can not let these families down. I would love to see at least an 8th of the U.S. population (37.5 million folks out of over 300 million) participate by giving the minimum of $1.00. At last update, over 230,000,000 people worldwide are a part of this MySpace network. This is a worldwide effort! That is why I chose MySpace. It would be all we need to help these families and maintain foundation operations indefinitely. There is no overhead. Ninety-two percent of all fundraising proceeds go directly to the families in need...PERIOD! Right now, our goal is to raise $12.5 million by Summer of 2008 so we can provide the funds needed to end specific hardships for impoverished autistic children, adults and their families! That time is close upon us. Help them by helping us to reach this goal. We want to assist a lot of families this year! We will post updated fundraising information here in the "Heroes" section of this page monthly. Our feeling is that all donations come from heroes, wherever they may be, worldwide. We will also be collecting testimonials from the families you will be helping. You've got to see and hear what your kindness is doing!

Thank you all for helping. I cannot do this without you! Here's where to donate:
