About Me

What can I tell you about me? Well, besides being a serial entrepreneur (I own two companies, a human resource consulting firm and a drug and background screening company), am the founder of the non-profit, Moms Vs. Autism, I am the mother of two beautiful children, Kyle, my 12 year old daughter and Zachary my 3 year old son. My son was diagnosed with autism at the age of 13 months and was and continues to be the inspiration behind my advocacy and non-profit work to help all impacted by autism spectrum disorders. It has become my mission in life to advocate for my son and others like him that can not speak out for themselves. Educating people on this disease is half the battle in spreading awareness, identifying a cause, finding a cure and helping the millions suffering from the effects of it right now. Please take the time to educate yourselves on autism if you haven't already. Chances are, you will be affected by it. Whether it is a family member, friend or acquaintance....autism is an epidemic - 1 in every 150 people is diagnosed with it....we are all in this together!!!

My Interests

I am very interested in many charitable/fundraising initiatives, but most especially those geared toward autism awareness and educating people on the importance of early diagnosis and intervention, as well as, vaccine education. I love doing anything athletic and outdoors. I love to read (although lately time seems very limited). I love to travel - even taking short day trips are cool...taking in a movie and fast food, a game or a concert. I also love to get dressed up in my big girl shoes and acting like a grown up every now and then too! I am a girl, so I like to shop...I admit it. I love to dance and be silly - even though I am not very good at it and I ABSOLUTELY love playing with my kids!!! There is nothing better than playing with my kids...absolutely nothing.

I'd like to meet:

I love meeting all types of people. I really like to surround myself with positive people that are Christian-minded and love to laugh. The type of people that understand that life is a journey, that it can get messy and complicated at times, and they do not dwell on the drama. They just learn from their mistakes, work hard not to make them again and become more unconditional with their tolerance, forgiveness and understanding of others. I am interested in meeting people who are more worried about their character than their reputation.... I love meeting anyone who has been impacted by autism, wants to help or share resources in the effort to educate, spread awareness and advocate for this cause. I am very active in fundraising and raising awareness - so anyone that would like to get involved, volunteer their time, resources or talents is always a ray of sunshine in my world :o)!!

Music:

I love country music, contemporary christian music, rock, opera, jazz, funk and blues. I grew up in the 80's and love to relive my younger years...I love all music in general - so I have a little bit of everything in my collection..and you can pretty much tell the kind of mood I am in, by the music I am listening to. Rap is the only thing you will not find in my collection. Nope...not a fave of mine at all.

Movies:
