DRU LOMBAR PASSED AWAY 9/02/05

About Me

Formed in 1973, Grinderswitch released 4 albums between 1973 and 1980 for the Capricorn and Atco Labels as well as 3 independent releases. Touring nonstop Grinderswitch opened shows for The Allman Brothers Band, Marshall Tucker, Charlie Daniels and Lynyrd Skynyrd as well as headling smaller venues from coast to coast. Their Capricorn albums rode the Billboard Top 200 Album Charts but the "Redwing" album for Atco was National Radio's Pick Of The Week and went to ..74. As they started a 2nd Album for Atco, Disco became popular and the labels priorities shifted so it was shelved. Grinderswitch kept touring including a tour to Europe with Marshall Tucker Band and Bonnie Bramlett and most of Charlie Daniels Volunteer Jams but in 1982 called it quits. Now after 22 years, Dru Lombar has reformed Grinderswitch and has released the cd "Ghost Train From Georgia" on his New South Records label. With 10 new songs and a remake of GS classic "Homebound" the new Gronderswitch is preparing to tour the USA as well as Europe once again. So if your tired of the fast food music and cookie cutter singers listen to the new Grinderswitch. Real Music For Real People!! DRU LOMBAR LEAD VOCALS, LEAD GUITAR AND SONGWRITER OF GRINDERSWITCH PASSED AWAY SEPT. 2, 2005 IN JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA. ..
