Abbi, born, raised and living in Kenya, ventured into music in 1993 as acappella singer with the band called "The Boyz", which later changed name to "Safari".
From 1996 he sang with Achieng Abura until 2001 when he began his solo-career.
Two years later his first solo-album came out with the title "Mudunia". This record led to two Kisima-awards for best male-artist and best upcoming artist.
His music has taken him to Europe on several tours and performances at festivals, such as Festival Mundial and North Sea Jazz Festival.
Abbi released his second album in August 2007 entitled "Indigo", and he is currently working on a new album with a new style and expression. Listening-samples here on myspace will soon be uploaded.
During the post-election crisis in Kenya, Abbi was deeply involved in spreading a message of peace, unity and honor through music. "Haki Yetu" is one of the songs, which he did in collaboration with poet and photographer Githuku. Abbi also collaborated with a large number of Kenyan artists on the song "Wakenya Pamoja". Both videos from youTube can be viewed below.
Recently, Abbi opened his own studio and production-house - INDIGO CREATIONS. Since February he has been collaborating with metta metta ART producing and recording Mutinda . The entire production-team stayed at the beautiful compound of INDIGO CREATIONS in Nairobi suburbs and "surrendered to creativity", as Abbi put it.
