About Me

"...wine...mirth and laughter, sermons and soda-water the day after"~ Lord Byron loved the isles of Greece and so do we, and so do we.
Actually, I am passionately involved in the development of Education and Information Communications Technology with Africa's European partners and beyond, for job creation programs in rural areas, as well as the eradication of Malaria and extreme poverty. As I am known to say "The business of Education and ICT development, is politics as usual."©
Having travelled to 230 cities in 27 countries over 4 continents, I lay special emphasis on intercultural dialogue and the preservation of heritage skills, for meaningful social transformations. The recognition and appreciation of cultural diversity through dialogue among societies and cultures, also leads to respect and mutual understanding.
Amondyi, my middle name and pen name, is usually given to Luo girls born in the wee hours of the morning. Paris -the most visited city in the world- is home to my brilliant husband and I. With roots established in the lush green valleys and panoramic hills that form a picturesque backdrop overlooking Kenya's Lake Victoria, I was raised in Nairobi by extraordinary parents.
During intervals in formulating policy reforms on Africa's challenges, I also write poetry.
"...Political Scientist, bilingual Poet and Essayist, model and actress, Amond(y)i is a strong combination of beauty and brains, making use of her many talents without losing sight of her goal and initiating community development projects. Seldom do show business and academic career blend so naturally for African women..." ~The Standard.
"...Agnes was the one who knew what she wanted from the beginning and went for it..." ~Alan Donovan in his astonishing autobiography, My Journey Through African Heritage.
A 1st Soprano chorist, I have also acted in several plays and notably in Peter Beard's colourful film documentaries, where I feature with César the great French sculptor, during Peter's major retrospective "Carnets Africains" at the Centre National de la Photographie in Paris. This slide above illustrates a sample of commercials, print ads, magazine covers, media interviews, film documentaries, photo exhibitions, fashion shows where I feature.
