About Me

the john hardaker direction is a jazz-blues combo from sydney, australia. built around the guitar work, compositions and arrangements of jazz guitarist john hardaker, it was formed in january 2007. a veteran of the sydney scene, john has been playing rock, blues and jazz all his life. unwilling to go in just one narrow direction he has brought them all together in his new group, the john hardaker direction. the music has over the last year evolved into a very soulful brew of blues-tinged jazz-funk with one foot rooted firmly in the past and the other kicking at the envelope.
