Scop

About Me

Scop started dealing with electronic devices since he was a child and was playing with the TV remote controller and VHS recorder like many child of its generation (born in year 1981). He loves computers and video-games, growing with it and enjoying every new generation. His story with electronic music begun in year 1994 on his Amiga 600 computer with Fast-Tracker software. The story continues after convincing his mom to offer him the worldwide known groovebox Roland MC-303... A story that should never stop : his true vocation is music. Most in particular, the electronic music with two preferred styles : hip-hop and trance, as uncommon as it can be in the electronica scene. He developed his skills both with hardware devices (like Fostex 1840 analog mixer, Roland MC-505 and Yamaha QY700 sequencers, Novation Nova 2X synth, Akai S2000 sampler, TC Electronic and Berhinger effects, etc.) and computer softwares (like Rebirth, Reason, SoundForge, Wavelab, Cubase, Nuendo, Logic, etc.).In year 2000, Scop collaborated to the foundation of "Eco6tem" collective with DJ Sekoya, a very good high school friend. Together, they lunched the "Trancers" project : a 100% hardware live and back to the source concept. They made their first live act the 20 july 2002 in a magic open air party. After a second live act in year 2003, Scop had to leave this project to complete his IT engineer diploma. In year 2005, he was working in Warsaw, Poland as IT project manager when he started an own hip-hop and trip-hop project : "The Scopitone". He needed to diversify the tempos and sounds of his creations. He came back in Paris, France in year 2006. He started a new commercial project with DJ Sekoya called "Beauty Set" and dedicated to powerful club and radio remixes of major hits. In 2007, He has joined the Hotlegs band and founded the Hotlegs Records label with the band members. The story never stops... and the next chapter can be wrote with you maybe ;-)
