Geoffmania!

About Me

First there was Beatlemania. Then there was Quizmania. After that there was a short period of kleptomania. And now, sweeping the world at an astonishing rate, there is Geoffmania! Formed from the ashes of Geoff's previous solo project (Men and Women of Australia), Geoffmania! is the vehicle in which Geoff will scale new creative heights - which is a tall order, given his magnificent achievements with Men And Women Of Australia, Controversial Windscreen, Microwave Jenny and Peg Friendly. Geoff started his musical career in the Griffith North Primary School pre-school choir where he unsuccessfully mimed, not knowing any of the words. At night his head was full of dreams of making it in the music world, although being naturally modest his ambitions were limited to being Stevie Wonder's harmonica technician or perhaps Tom Jones' underwear roadie. His deep talent could not be denied though, and before too long he played his memorable first concert at the Forms 1 and 2 Social, St Marys School Hall, Echuca. The praise was unbelievable, with comments such as "I've not heard the riff from My Sharona played so well by a glasses-wearing guitarist since Tuesday" and "Proud Mary truely sounds recognisable the way you play it". Geoff honed his skills as a musician and dynamic frontman (he pioneered the technique of tapping his toe in time with the music) by playing marathon sets in the sleazy nightclubs of Hamburg. This inspired his first hit "I Love Hamburgers". Due to a technicality in the rules, Geoff was allowed to represent Sweden in the 1984 Eurovision Song Contest. His rousing rendition of 'Floby-Doby-Doo, Floby-Doby-Dey (English Translation: I have this strange urge to lie on top of you) was the hit of the contest! A career highlight was winning the 2006 Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. Disappointingly, Geoff's name was mis-spelled 'John Mayer'. A brief, torrid affair with Kate Winslet produced a daughter, Hatstand Triangle Winslet. Geoff's career has to a certain extent been hampered by substance abuse, in particular a weakness for Robert Timms Coffee Bags (at one point 3 per day!). Having battled his demons and emerged victorious, Geoff is currently at the height of his powers, although a little less alert. Geoff is good and prodigiously talented. His favourite colour is blue, he enjoys beer, his favourite food is peanut butter (crunchy) and he has green eyes. He is currently dating Gertrude Origliasso, the relatively unknown Veronicas triplet. Feel free to visit the page of Geoff's previous band (and number 2 friend) Controversial Windscreen.

Impractical Songs

Here is a list of songs where I deem the lyrical subject matter 'impractical'. I will add to the list periodically. 1. Climb Every Mountain - Every mountain? Climbing just one is really hard work...
