About Me

Holding my breath.

My Interests

Making art, making nice, making stories.Specifically, making, if I do say so myself, extremely cool gear at my Cafe press shop - with designs like these samples, and many more.Ah, darn. When I reduced the original graphics for this page, they got kind of screwy. Picture them a lot nicer. Thanks.

I'd like to meet:

my parents again, not just in dreams. I have things to ask them.

Music:

I fear its power. Well, not really. OK, some. Jesus, what a dorky statement. Sorry. Moving right along,

Movies:

I do not fear their power. Just stop asking me questions I am going to give dorky answers to, OK?

Television:

Show me a happy ending, where people give selflessly and don't hurt one another, and I'm good. Except not "Seventh Heaven."

Books:

I fear for the publishing industry much as I fear for the radio industry: too much consolidation and too few opportunities. That said, I'm doing this for a Friend:

...and this for another:img src=" http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c103/blisti/sub-album%201/ sub-album%202/ADD-Paperback-1.gif"

Heroes:

Helen Thomas, Jimmy Carter, Ann Given, Michael Hiller and Franklin Robinson. Both my sisters, Margaret and Sara. These are all "against all odds" people and I admire them tremendously. Not to mention these folks, who have provided these handy CLICKABLE links you can use for no-cost-to-you donations to important causes from their sponsors.

Spending time with Dad

I've been having conversations with my father-in-law the past couple of mornings.  He's been getting chemo, and I've been his driver.  Dad's 75 now, and retired.  It seems so cruel for ...

Honestly, I wish you could hear me singing this.

I have this minor hidden talent of being able to come up with rhymes on the fly.  Sometimes I put them to equally spontaneous music, sometimes just apply them to existing tunes.  My son and ...

All the News That Fits, We Print (with commentary)

This was on the Yahoo front page today.  It made me reconsider the eight-year news blackout on the Bush twins.  I read, years ago, that the press was going to lay off Jenna and what's-her-na...

Class warfare and slaves to fashion

If anything were to convince me the new Apps thing here is from Satan, it would be this buying and selling of people stuff.  I don't mean to offend anyone who's recently "bought" me from Tom as a...

The concept of "color" is now incomprehensible to children.

As I may have mentioned, absolute color perception is something I occasionally contemplate. You know how dogs have different rods and cones than people, and therefore have different blue-sky moments?...
