I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Although I am 53, most of my friends say I look around 50. I think it's because of all the working out I do. I was student body president of our junior high. My position allowed the basketball team to get new uniforms. They went 5-2 that year (vs. 6-1 the previous season). Note: when I first started writing this--and running it by him--my dog was all frisky & alert. Now this. He doesn't tend to support me in the self-esteem department:.......Let's see--what else? I don't feel entirely comfortable around either extremely intelligent or profoundly ignorant people. In the remote possibility I was teamed up with Stephen Hawking & Jessica Simpson on a talk show it could be very distressing for me.............I'm also trying to be more animated in my day to day relationships with people & express more warmth in my writing. Friends have complained that I'm become far too sardonic, and want me to be more emotionally invested in life. Change is not easy--so to facilitate the process of unthawing whatever sentiment resides within me, I've begun a discipline of watching Ernest Borgnine (pic below) films. Hopefully this will produce some positive results.........I consider myself a very spiritual person. I've read almost all the works by Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra & Alan Watts--in addition to be thoroughly versed in the holy scriptures. I'm now at a place in my life, I believe, where I can pretty much look at anything....and decide strictly from a plain of pure consciousness whether I want to partake or not.Mandy and Ashley (above)--former members of my meditation group--testing my focus.... ......That said, I'm not dogmatic about belief systems. The main criteria is just whether it works for you--whether there are tangible results to your practice. Even the Bible makes it plain that faith is the SUBSTANCE of things hoped for. If you have no results from your spiritual practice, than I question whether you indeed are spiritual. At least that's the way I see it.Of course we all face rough patches in our life...and sometimes, in spite of whatever devotional habits, exercise program, diet or support system we turn to...it isn't sufficient to help us make it through the day. As a last resort some of us turn to unconventional methods to give our spirits that needed boost. It is not something I generally condone. But if you truly believe it is the only option available--then I'll try to refrain from being judgemental--particularily if you are on my friends list, and comment regularly on my page.

My Interests

Well, one of my main interests right now is hoping that everyone on myspace find that connection, or connections, that makes their .. experience worthwhile. Sometime it even doesn't take much of a search...the person(s) you are to connect with...whether it be for business networking, friendship or romance...is right there. You simply need to turn your head a bit--so to speak.Unfortunately, what often hinders, is an attempt to be something you're not...or strive for something you already are. At the risk of sounding tritely hip, the answer for this hindrance is simply to 'chill out.' Emulate someone relaxed, comfortable in his/her own skin if need be.... Now to answer the question of my general interests, they include: mt. biking, running, piano & drums.above--my first drum instructor: John "Stumpy" Pepys. Excellent drummer, poor gardener. ************************ Finally, I enjoy reading, digital photography & writing comedy. ************************ I also try to spend as much time with people who want to be alone.

I'd like to meet:

Alan Ball, Larry David, Jemaine Clement, Benjamin Franklin--in my computer room early morning June 12, 2008. When I meet these guys it's imperative they show me some enthusiasm, and not just go through the motions. I want them to feel as though they have nothing better to do than spend a day with me discussing stuff that pops into my head.Also...I would like to go hiking with Phil Henry. Well, until I came across this pic. Now I'm less enthusiastic:And perhaps, that dog whisperer guy--or basically ANYONE that can help we with my hound....I suspect it's too late, though:

You Are 50% Left Brained, 50% Right Brained
The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.
Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.
If you're left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.
Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.

The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.
Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.
If you're right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art.
Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports. Are You Right or Left Brained?

I wish we had more lively discussions at the dinner table

and had someone that knew how to sew on a missing button. Gracious submission would be a bonus. I think if my wife had gone to a school like this--I would not be issuing this complaint. (from LA Times...
