European Tap-Guitar Seminar - BOOK NOW

About Me

ETap 2008 was BRILLIANT! Find out about the next E-Tap Seminar planned for summer 2009 by visiting the CLIC MUSIC website WWW.CLICMUSIC.BE where full details are provided. Early reservation through the Clicmusic website is recommended.
This year the theme was LEFT HAND, NEW PERSPECTIVES. Kai Kurosawa presented his innovative techniques for left hand solo playing, thumb technique, fretless method etc. What an amazing musician and great teacher. Kai joined the expert teaching team of Daniel Schell, Wolfgang Daiss, Markus Reuter and Ron Baggerman, teaching expertly all aspects of tapping music in great depth. ETap is such a unique opportunity and experience for the students.

Subject: Teaching the method of tapping on the strings of a guitar or bass (or specialized tap-guitar) with the tip of the fingers.Instruments: Electric and acoustic guitars and basses, instruments specially designed for tapping such as tap guitars or tiptars, whatever their makers, tunings or number of strings. Objective: To provide a week of study and expert advice on this exciting contemporary approach to playing stringed instruments. It is a valuable opportunity to learn from masters in this field and obtain precious elements of knowledge that will expand your musical capabilities. 'Multi-Touch' and Open: The E-Tap Seminar is really 'multi platform'. It is the only one which is primarily music oriented for all instrument types, and dedicated to all systems of tunings, touch, guitars and types of tap-guitars. The approach is 'multi touch', non-proprietary and 'open-source', to use computer jargon. Forum : What is the E-Tap Seminar? More than just a place to learn, it is especially an excellent forum to meet other musicians and enjoy "intelligent" creative holidays. The value from the Seminar comes particularly from the meeting you will have with tappers from all around the world and discussions you will have with them. You will also be able to evaluate and try instruments coming from various manufacturers, and sometimes these manufacturers themselves, but that will happen in openness and in an environment of loyal concurrence and free information. Musical Holiday : The Tap Seminar is part of a big event, namely the section Musiques et danses traditionnelles of the Académie d'été de Wallonie. The director, Pierre Vaiana, is an excellent jazz saxophonist, familiar with world music involving Italian, French or African roots. This gives us the opportunity to meet and play with many other musicians and especially to have great evenings enjoying various artistic disciplines, traditional and modern, such as dance, concerts, jamming, theater, movie direction, sculpture, story telling and writing. Libramont is a charming little city situated in the middle of the Ardens. Walks in the surrounding forest, swimming in the Semois river, and excursions to archaeological sites are organised every late afternoon. Related subjects: Improvising, playing, reading, composition, harmony, chords, songs, new music, jazz, classical, Indian music, pop, body rhythm, tap guitar manufacturing, electronics, dancing, performing... Level: All levels of playing and/or reading are accepted. There are 3 classes: beginners, intermediate, advanced. The beginners A class is for real beginners having no idea of theory or whatsoever! Anyway, if you - or we - feel that you are not happy in a class, just ask and you may move to another level. On the other hand, we form classes where people are happy to work together.Time Schedule: Morning is devoted to tuition in group. Afternoon is for special interests "club", such as reading club, harmony club, electronic, dance, body rhythm, or whatever subjects the students wish to have. Students may also have private lessons with the teacher of their choice. Late afternoons are for leisure, walking and swimming. Evening is for concerts. There are concerts every night. One evening is reserved for the tap guitar players. The student's evening happens on final day, with the three groups presenting short pieces.Where: Libramont, in the charming Ardennes region of Belgium. When: July 2009, dates TBA.
