About Me

I am a huge progressive rock fan. It's the music that inspired me to take up music a few years back, and will likely always be my main musical passion. I also like other music of course. Anything from classical, to punk, to AOR rock, to metal, from Jazz, to world music appeals to me.

On the stick, my main influences are the obvious ones: Tony Levin and Trey Gunn because of their work with a number of prog projects, most notably King Crimson.

Bob Culbertson and Greg Howard: Bob for hosting a Florida Stick Seminar I put together a few years ago when I was first playing, and Greg for being a major inspiration stylistically, as well as for his countless hours advocating the Stick, be it on forums, in email, and even at times on the phone. To both of you, I owe a huge thanks!

To all the lesser known stickists out there, from the ones I know on a personal level (to various degrees) Flint Blade, Juan Leon, Mike Duclon (I have to give a shout out to the Florida Stickists -REPRESENT!) To others I have chatted with online or via email or what have you. Keep on tapping!

Lastly to Emmitt Chapman himself (and wife Yuta) Without you, none of this would have happened!

This site is mainly for working demos at this point, so all songs are rough edits, almost exclusivly single takes. I chose to leave them raw, because I want to emulate a live sound, complete with the occasional flub.

The Budget-Cut Orchestra is:

Grant B: Guitar, Vocals, Uke, Accordian

Randy P: Chapman Stick, Bass, Guitar, Vocals, Programming

Keifer T: Guitar, Vocals

Leigh T: Vocals, Keyboards
