Sounds Like: The Koyabu 12-string sounds like a bass & guitar at the same time. It has 6 melody strings tuned in descending 4ths: d-a-e-b-f-c & 6 bass strings tuned in ascending 5ths: c-g-d-a-e-b. It has a 5 1/4 octave range. The playing technique is called "2-handed tapping" in which every finger plays a tone. It's a pianotechnique on a stringed instrument. Because of this 1 person can play 2 (or more) independend lines, melody,bass & chords.
