Blue Is The Colour

About Me

Its official! Landon is now a fully qualified JACK RABBIT! (And I intend to jump all around that hole!). JACK RABBIT SLIM is a top UK band and is now starting to spread its sleaze in europe and the USA. World domination may well follow! And I for one feel very proud and privelleged to be given the opportunity to be a part of it all. I've followed JRS since the beginning and bought into the whole JRS concept long ago. Lead singer Bob Butfoy is a man with a plan and JRS are a band with a brand! Bob writes alot of his own material puctuated by a the odd cover here and there. This I like because new material has always appealed to me. JRS is now my 100% priority and will take precedence over previous commitments but I will continue to play double bass for Stateside Slide and Mario Bradley, (which is mainly studio work anyway). The Stateside Sliders' main objective is to record/demo the songs written by the lead singer Volker Houghton. Several of his songs have already been recorded by Marco Di Maggio. He has also teamed up on occasion with Mario Bradley. I've always had great faith in this material and will always be willing to help promote his songs in anyway I can. Gigging would still be an option under the right circumstances. I used to play for a covers band called The Sliders which split in August/September 2005. Playing live is great fun and a real thrill, but churning out cover after cover may be alright as a bit of a novelty, but it doesn't really float my boat on a week to week basis. The irony is I love to watch great authentic rockabilly bands and go to great lengths to do so, but when it comes to playing I would rather get my teeth into something original. This may sound hypocritical to some people, but there are a lot of musicians around who feel the same! In late 2006 we also recorded some demos @ Foot-Tapping Records featuring Darrel Higham on guitar, Paul Packer on Sax and Mark from The Trashcanz on skins. These are still in need of a final mix-down but we are still waiting for the master tapes to be sent to us...(hurry up Darrel!!) About 2-3 years ago, Volk and I recorded a couple of tracks with Mario Bradley, 'The Ticket' being one of them. I also laid down some bass lines for Mario's next album and, after a recent conversation, have been asked to play on the rest of it. Top man!! There's a video of the man himself at the top of this page. There is also a video of 'Twenty Flight Rock'......a live radio broadcast on Heartbeat FM in the summer of 2005. We were invited to play straight after performing 'Rock In The Park' an annual outdoor festival held in Stevenage. This features....Volker Houghton - vox .... Darrel Higham - Lead Guitar ......Ammo - Acoustic Rhythm .... Tim Churchill - Drums ....and yours truley on Bass. Below is another live radio broadcast from around the same time, this being @ 'Rhythms Of The World' festival in Hitchin. 'Let's Rock Tonight' features a young Glenn Doran on lead guitar and was performed in Hitchin Corn Exchange. Enjoy!!

My Interests

Playing Double Bass for Jack Rabbit Slim! and my accoustic guitar in my spare time. Following Chelsea, though these days mainly from the armchair. Just as well really, as I don't like what I turn into when I go
