BORN OUT OF A MUTUAL LOVE FOR DESPERATE ROCK'N'ROLL, THE MOJOKINGS KICK SOME LIFE BACK INTO AN OTHERWISE BLAND UK ROCKABILLY SCENE.... That might seem like a bold statement, but this is a bold band! "We are just getting tired of all these bands that try their hardest to sound like the original records, a few pull it off, others just sound bland and stuffy" says Lead singer and guitarist Paul Scoulding. "I got into this music when I was around 9 years old from listening to my older brothers records, that was around '85/'86, all the bands around then were individual. I mean, you could just listen to the first few bars of a tune and know straight of who it was, Stray Cats, Deltas, Restless, The Polecats, The Meteors...you could tell. That was when the music was different, when it was great, and people, the media, stood up and took notice. When was the last time that happened? Rockabilly music seems to be stuck in a rut that it cant escape. Most of the bands are happy just to repeat the same stuff over and over, some Dj's playing the same stuff they've been playing for the last 25-30 years! Thats never going to attract a new audiance to the music, because thats what it needs, and now is the time for people that can, and will, make a difference". So listen to the music, go to the gigs and enjoy a great, fresh, British rock'roll band. They seldom come hotter than this! PAUL SCOULDING-GUITAR/VOCALS-30 YEARS OLD-Paul started playing guitar at the age of 9 after getting the bug from listening to his older brothers rockabilly/psychobilly records. Cut his teeth playing in 90's neo-rockabilly band Shakeout with his two brothers Marty and Rich and played on the bands two albums "Dissonance" and "Top Of The World". And all before the age of 20! During thr 90's Paul also spent some time as the guitarist for the now legendary South Norfolk garage band, The Mandrax Incident. Originally from Diss in Norfolk, he now lives in Braintree Essex. He is addicted to grease rock'n'roll, and Gretsch Guitars. LEE PAYNE-DOUBLE BASS-35 YEARS OLD-Lee has been playing double bass for around 10 years after spending time as roadie for rockabilly giants Restless. Lee lives in Long Melford Suffolk. SCOTTY ROBERTS-DRUMS-33 YEARS OLD-Scotty started playing the drums after hearing Ringo Star on all those early Beatles rock'n'roll recordings at the age of 10. He got the rockabilly bug soon after when he heard some old Elvis sun recordings. Over the years he has played with many choice rockin' outfits...all of whom have followed the safety rails.
