PLEASE PLAY: WHAT DAY IS WHEN AND LYING EYES © 2007 ------------------------------------------ Hi, My Name is Mark Kelf, I collect old dusty Rockabilly 45’s and write & record Rockabilly music...I had my first releases in the early eighties with a band called: Fireball XL5, We lined up as Jonny Bridgewood (Bass) Thorny (Guitar) Mustard (Rhythm) Ian Cooper (Drums) and myself Vocals & songwriter...We recorded two 45’s (Rockin’ Shoes (EP) – The Man With No Name) and an LP (Go For It) for Northwood Records. Mark Kelf & The Valley Boys: (1989 – 2006) Vocals, Bass, Rhythm Guitar...Pink & Black Records gave us a break in 2000 on their Cat’n Around series. We’ve also had releases on Vampirella Music - NBT / SCNBT - Kamikaze Records - Vampirette Music...I wrote almost all the Valley Boys material and was backed up by Richard with his improvising style (I never heard him play the same thing twice!) We also recorded a great song written by Dave “Porky†Coates and three by (famed) Texas songwriter: Sonny May. Richard also wrote one of our first releases: Sun Rose Up This Morning and we co-wrote Union Avenue...2007 was a good year, I recorded two new songs for NBT Records (Treblinka Train – Ride The Train) with V8’s Rumbles Wayne Beauchamp, Wayne’s a very versatile guitarist and drummer, I rate Treblinka Train as my best contribution to the Ride The Train Series...I also had the honour of recording a song for NBT with U.S Rockabilly guitar legend Dave Moore...I am currently working on a new album with the talented Paul Finlay, Paul’s producing, arranging and playing has made this a very exciting and different project for me, the new album features ten of my songs and a mixture of Rock n Roll & Country/Folk music...
