this is me: and i make jewellery. interests? art. anything artistic, creative, intelligent, disturbing, odd, dark, melancholy, sarcastic, deep, etc. etc. i like creative and profound people; and certainly not everyone is. i admire people who are prolific and consistent in whetever they do - because as yet, i am not someone who has mastered the art of constancy. not in my work, anyhow...

Music:

i need music in my life. all kinds of music - i am not exclusive when it comes to it, i can't just like only Rockabilly or Punk or whatever, i try not to be close-minded about it, although i've had help with this (thanks roomate, thanks old-old-ex! and btw, did i mention i want Phatty and Mike Fury to co-DJ my funeral? so anyway...) as long as it's got a great melody and makes me wanna dance, as long as it fires up some nerve, as long as it makes me cry or makes me sigh, as long as it's made with some sort of passion, as long as it ain't prefab money-makin' crap, as long as it makes me tap my toes, as long as it SPEAKS to me, as long as it ain't got no weak super-overdubbed vocals, as long as it says something and that means it could say somethin 'bout love or politics or life or the blues or frankly 'bout nothin' at all, as long as it's there in my life for all the reasons it's supposed to be there...

Movies:

so i am a visual artist, that's right, VISUAL, although i hate the two of those words side-by-side like that: i mean, i'm an artist, period. so i like pretty things, so what, and i like pretty things that have substance. some may say this is my weakness, my shortcoming. so be it. r.a.maguire, photo.

Heroes:

if u like someone, does that make them your hero? if you admire them, think they make cool music, think they have great style and you wanna look like them, emulate them, does that make them your hero? if you think someone does the world or you a good service, if they lay down their life for you, if they are caring and compassionate for the homeless and fight for human rights, does that make them your hero? hmmm..... the Gold Coast Hotel had the best vanity mirror... back in another time, in a basement apartment, a whole world away... my furry beastcat:
