Hi there,my names Elaine,welcome to my page!..Well,. .when I looked old enough to go to pubs,my sis started taking me out to rockin do's with her.Sometimes she'd dress me up,other times she'd tell me off for nicking her stuff!(she had all the nice clothes. :( )ha.Hemsby was mentioned at a rockin do one night,it sounded a bit wild to me & didnt think my mam would let me go,but she must have thought I'd be safe in the company of mel & Frankie!!
Everyone persuaded me to go, my dad drove me there once,took about 5 hrs,he dropped me off then went straight home without even having a cuppa!He's gr8!
I loved it anyway,thought everyone was barmy!(they were & still are!!)
I am very lucky to have a son & daughter,(and now Simon who I love to bits)..my sons learning to play guitar,& loves the music & cars,so look out for him in the future! :)
Anything else you want to know about me feel free to ask!!When I was about 15,my heros where Marilyn Monroe & James Dean,I used to spend time doing pencil drawings of them!This started a life long love affair with the films of the era & the matinee idols of the 50s of which I still adore today for their glamour & classic style..actors such as..Carry Grant,Jane Russel,Jayne Mansfield,Kirk Douglas,Robert Mitchum,Ginger Rogers,Bridget Bardot,Diana Dors,Doris Day & her wonderfull singing voice,also Lauren Bacall & Rita Hayworth.Johnny Burnette & The Rock n Roll Trio are my all time favourite 50s rockabilly band.Every song on that album is a killer track,the like of which will never be repeated,..what I would call a band with Power & Presence!I love the glamour,style & sexiness of the 50s,american culture,clothes & music.I lurvvve american hotrods,pick ups,classic cars & bikes,& especially love the sound of a V8 rumbling under the hood of a cool ride.Grrrrrrrr.......I love british cars & bikes too,Fords & BSA are amongst my favourites.My all time favourite dream car would have to be a 1949 Mercury led sled coupe in matt black.
I love to go to car shows in the summer & check out peoples rides.
