Jessie & The Orbits

About Me

Introducing Jessie & The Orbits
For a band who only formed in August 2008, Jessie & The Orbits have made a pretty big impact. Their first gig at The Brighton Rumble went down a storm, and since then they've been booked up for the cream of rockabilly and rhythm and blues weekenders the world over. If you're heading to the Rockabilly Rave in June, the High Rockabilly in September or the Rhythm Riot in November, make sure you're not standing at the bar or asleep in your room - you'd be daft to miss them. With 20 year-old Jessie's belting bluesy vocals and a wealth of talented and experienced musicians behind her, you'll be in for a treat, on the eyes and the ears.Rumble Records chose Jessie & The Orbits to cut their first single on good old fashioned vinyl, the way it should be. 'Voodoo Voodoo' is the A-side currently whipping up a strollin' storm in clubs right around Europe, with B-side 'Running Around' fast chasing its tail. There is no flipside - it's all good, and it's available now. You can also pick up a copy at any of their shows and if you're lucky, they'll even sign it for you if you bring your own crayons...
*** Jessie - Main Vocals***
20 year-old Jessie was born and bred in South London and has had rockabilly, rhythm and blues and rock ‘n’ roll in her blood since day one, having been brought up on a diet of the finest music ears can enjoy. Small in stature but big in personality, Jessie’s vocals could push a train through a tunnel when she’s in full pelt. Her voice goes from deep and soulful on the more R&B numbers to strong and belting on the energetic rockabilly numbers. She’s not bad to look at either, so even if you’re deaf, you’ll still enjoy the show. Champion!
***Tony Hillebrandt-Drums***
Tony used to bash the skins for Slim Slip & The Sliders, The Cordwood Draggers,The Sundowners and his first band, at the tender age of 17, Memphis. Tony has also depped for Darrel Higham, Ruby Ann, Lloyd Tripp & The Zipguns, Arsen Roulette,The Tunebusters,Chrissie Lane & The Cracker Jacks and The Western Aces. His dear friend Jack Daniels accompanies him on stage wherever he goes, and after a gig you’ll find them relaxing together back stage. He’s always turned out in seriously sharp threads, but may well wear pyjamas on his lower half as we can’t see his legs behind the traps.
***Gautier Golab-Guitar***
French guitar picker Gautier and his beloved Gretsch left Limoges for Brighton in 2007. He quickly got down to business, getting married in his first summer in the UK and forming Jessie & The Orbits with the rest of the band in his second. From Paris to Pontins, Lisbon to Las Vegas, Gautier has played just about everywhere with Portugal’s pint-sized Ruby Ann and now lays claim to being the guitarist for two of the most talented female singers on the scene today. An exceptionally talented musician with a penchant for foul-smelling cheeses – what more could a band ask for?
