Burt Bacharach Said I was Pretty!!!

About Me

MySpace Layouts
***WINNER OF 'SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR BEING A VALUABLE MEMBER OF THE VANCOUVER BURLESQUE COMMUNITY' with fellow goddesses Melody Mangler and Crystal Precious - 2008 Vancouver International Burlesque Festival***An animated performer of Burlesque, Go-Go, Disco, Polynesian (Hula, Tahitian and Maori Poi Balls), African, Cabaret and Shimmying and a touch of tap! An 'every now and then' pin-up model. A writer (you can read my 'limerick-ese' poetry on my blog). I'm quarter Cree/Sioux/Ojibwa and love going to Pow Wow's and beading. My other quarters are French, Irish and Welsh. I do love red wine, fromage, Guiness and Welsh Rarebit... and I love performance for the sake of creativity and 'soulshine,' - not for egotistical purposes! In late 2004, I moved to Vancouver from Melbourne, Australia. I've been performing cabaret-style since 1993 and love the 'art' of choreographing dance routines. I have been interested in vintage theatrics and music and Go-Go since I was approximately seven years old. *** Lucky for me, I grew up in a kitschy family with crazy theatre bands, rockabilly bands and have an ex-calendar girl mother! My Native grandmother used to be a Burlesque dancer in the 50's (and she looked a lot like Eartha Kitt). She taught me how to shimmy when I was three! *** I've also written a children's book, co-written a play, have appeared on television programs and have been in many short films. *** The first time I ever Go-Go danced on stage was with none other than the legendary late Wilson Pickett. The song - Land of a Thousand Dances (naturally!). I went on to being a Go-Go dancer with Australian surf-guitar band, The Supertronics, for several years. I have been in a variety of cabaret/burlesque combo's and enjoy amusing people (double entendre!). Among my favourite projects was Butt Funky's Non-Stop Disco Party. I was part of the Solid Butt Dancers and I sure learnt a lot about disco moves and costuming! After that, I formed The Best Dancers in the World and performed many 'thematical' routines, including Prince tributes and customized political satire numbers for the wonderful and legendary Australian comedian, Rod Quantock. *** I also used to have a whole room filled to the brim with costumes (including a set of drawers entirely dedicated to leotards!). *******When I made the move to Canada I brought two suitcases with me - one of clothes etc, and one jam packed with costumes. I also brought along a happy, hopeful attitude. 'Twas a fresh beginning and now I am very happy to be older and wiser. ***** I am certainly a tad odd at times, but I'd rather wear my imagination on my sleeve over being 'hot!!!' On that note, I am 'real' burlesque rather than 'stripper/burlesque' and I like it.*** I now reside in beautiful Vancouver and have enjoyed working with Sweet Soul Burlesque, Factory Nights events, In the House Festival '06 & '07, Chaz Royal events, Malaika Millions and Her Breast Friends, the Vancouver Burlesque Festival 2006 & 2007, Dr.Sketchy's Anti-Art School, Kitty Nights, Seattle Sinner Newspaper and countless other happenings.*** I am also the founder of The Pink Flamingo Burlesque - a collaboration between Blue Morris, Red (our singer)and myself. We perform traditional bump and grind tunes as well as a plethora of burlesque related music. Naturally, we also present dazzling dance routines and host guest artistes.***I have also collaborated with the gorgeous Malaika Millions. Our project - The Big Bam Boobies. It is a puppeteered breast act featuring the busty talents of myself and Farrah Moans, our breast-a-teers are Malaika and boylesque wonder, Teddy Smooth.*** I am also a board member of the Vancouver International Burlesque Festival, which shall be held from April 24 - May 4, 2008. If you have any enquiries, please contact me. You can visit the website at www.vanburlesquefest.com*** I am on MySpace to give and express myself to the world. HOWEVER, I would like to say that I am NOT INTERESTED in any profiles that contain any messages of hate, bigotry, anti-immigration, homophobia and other revolting ideals. I am disgusted by gun culture, violence, prejudice and general destruction of human rights. **** I express my sexuality for my own purposes and not to appease anyone's idea of how I should be. I have no interest in 'dirty talk' or hard core porn business. ***** If a poem or a picture TITillates you, I am happy and expect respect! ***XXXOOO
