About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !
(with a little geeky html tweaking by yours truly!)
I'm a music addict with tastes all over the map. See my extensive list in my profile. I'm a DJ on WLUW in Chicago. Tune in on Thursdays from 11:00am until 2:00pm, both on 88.7fm in Chicago and streamcast at wluw.org. The show is called "The Razor and Die Show." The time-slot is considered "format." This means we're encouraged to mix genres and experiment with styles! For a better idea of what we play: Follow me to see our playlists!

Starting May 16th I became the new host of the long-running WLUW show: Full on Friday. Tune in from 2pm until 6pm! Plan your weekend with music and live performances with Full on Friday with Di! Razor will remain as host on Thursdays!
On the first Saturday of every month, Razor co-hosts/engineers live sound with David Bragman:
Live 'n' Kickin' Bluegrass!
Often we substitute on Saturdays and/or engineer live sound. We are officially part of the team of "Somebody Else's Troubles." This is a specialty Roots Music show: Including (but not limited to) Americana, Traditional Blues, Country-Western, Western Swing, Folk, Alt-Country, Bluegrass, String and Jug Bands, Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Hillbilly, Singer/Songwriter and Acoustic, Zydeco, Cajun, Jump Jive and other Swingin' Jazz.
Our shows cannot possibly promote every live Chicago performance on the air every week (we sure try!)
Therefore, we maintain an online Music Calendar here!
If you'd like to send us music for show consideration:

It's difficult to find a bigger dog fan. Woof! We've rescued four wonderful dogs who've given us more love than we'd ever imagined. Until recently I shared my life with a Basset Hound and an English Bulldog. Porter and Fuggles!

We lost our Fuggles on November 13th, 2007. Sheena entered our lives shortly thereafter. We rescued Sheena and she rescued us right back! Sheena is a punk beagle!

Movies:

Always have been a big movie fan. I prefer dialog to action. I prefer low-budget to huge extravaganzas. Old movies, new movies, independent films. I will always prefer watching a film to switching on a TV series. My list would be even longer than my music list, so let's save space and not list them! I prefer to laugh when watching a movie to crying. I also detest epic romance pictures! Give me a silly romantic teen film over those any day! Also, I might admire special effects but most of the plots (of those movies) make me yawn!..

Television:

I try not to watch too much on TV. Don't like the reality shows. I prefer sit-coms, but end up watching syndicated re-runs of the classics. Public television is fine. I'm not a fanatic. I like the travel shows, animal show, British comedies, and I find "Antiques Roadshow" fascinating. If you want me to commit to a TV series, I just can't seem to remember to keep up with one and I get hopelessly lost. Better to just turn on a movie. If a good movie isn't around, blast some tunes on the stereo!

Books:

I'm a voracious reader. Don't ask me to pick just one genre or author. Thanks!

Heroes:

My mother most of all.
