June Carter Clash & The Tex Pistols

About Me

"Posits a world in which Johnny Cash, the Clash and the Sex Pistols allied to form a punk-country concoction (minus the spitting on the crowd)" – NEW CITY
.. Yet another child born of The Old Town School of Folk Music. Currently learning to walk and feed ourselves...but running soon. Just you wait. It'll be amazing.
We play what we call 100 percent original covers -- either double-barrelled, punk-rock interpretations of the American country-music songbook or country-fried versions of the punk-rock canon. What does that mean? Well ‘ we’ve arranged Kenny Roger’s ‘Ruby’ so it has the haunting reggae-like sound of ‘Guns of Brixton.’ Our version of Loretta Lynn’s ‘ Fist City ‘ rocks like ‘Complete Control.’ And our version of Johnny Cash’s ‘ Jackson ‘ is channeled through ‘Clash City Rockers.’
Is everything we do fast and furious? No way. Our sweet, bluegrass version of ‘Train in Vain’ is downright Alison Krauss-like. And our country versions of Junior Murvin's ‘Police & Thieves’ and The Smith’s ‘Panic’ would sound right at home in a Texas honky tonk.

Sounds Like: You like country? You like brit punk?
You like 'em both at the same time?

Cool, cuz that's what we do.

Imagine how cool it would be if Charley Pride, Mel Tillis, George Jones, Gram Parsons or Johnny Cash had made an album with Joe Strummer, Johnny Rotten, Captain Sensible or Pete Shelley.

...Or if Evel Knievel had formed a country band.
