About Me

Who is NatureDevil? NatureDevil is me, a freelance bass player and lead guitar player of my own alternative grunge punk emo rock metal whatever band out of Chicago. Take your pick; I usually fall into some blend of any of the above descriptions.
What kind of music is it? To put it simply: rock. You'll hear elements of metal, blues, jazz, punk, emo, grunge, classical, and even hip hop. It 's really fucked up. NatureDevil can play a metal club with some very loud bands and hold our own or go to a cafe in the city and play acoustic to that same degree.
That doesn't help. So like, what kind of band/person is NatureDevil most similar to? You know those depressing bands with sad lyrics you can't stand? Or those goofy bands who sing ridiculous lyrics and jump all over the stage? Maybe you know those bands where the lead singer screams the whole time and you have no idea what he is saying? Or those whiny punk bands that sing lyrics that sound like they came from a pissed off 8th grader? Those bands you hear on the radio where the lead singer sounds like he needs a Sudafed? Or bands that sing rock ballads with sweeping solos in them? We have it all covered. We cover a very wide variety, and we entertain the fuck our of our audiences.
Where is NatureDevil played at? Ug. Until I get the album completed I have demo songs heard here. We've performed live on big Chicago media merket radio station Q101, who has also played us a few times (in great daytime timeslots, no less!) and we get played on Rebel Radio, The Razor and Di Show on WLUW, a few local college radio stations as well as dozens and dozens of podcasts and indie radio programs around the world. Now if I only had that damn album done...
Where has NatureDevil played at in the city? NatureDevil himself has played in bands that have graced the stages of everywhere from the Thirsty Whale (R.I.P.) to the Riviera. With the current lineup, the places NatureDevil has played in the last few years include: The Double Door, Penny Road Pub, The Note, The Congress Theater, Martyr's, the Elbo Room, Wise Fools Pub, Good Times, Legends, Silvies, Cal's Liquors (in the loop), Tonik Bar, Nite Cap Lounge, Memories, The Cubby Bear, Gallery Cabaret, The Mutiny, Nelly's Piper (Stage 83)... as well as countless outdoor events, parties, open mic nights, last minute calls, benefits and community events. We keep very busy. Got a show to play???!-START block to Place Custom Banner above navigationBarAuthor:Eileen !-END Block to Place Custom Banner top of navigationBar -!

Why must you think so linear?

I have made some decisions about my future as a musician and what I plan to do with myself based off of current events. I doubt anyone will bother to read past this sentence, especially the people who...

It Isn't Your Fault, But It's Your Problem

That statement applies to many things. Today, it refers to mass extinction, and the fact that humans think they can stop it. Life moves in cycles. Our human existence is but a blink of an ey...
