About Me

Browsing around, I heard a really great song by Annie Lennox titled "Ghosts in My Machine" -- and had it on here for a little while. I got a big chuckle out of it, since I wrote a whole book on how to get "ghosts" and other unwanted energies out of.... houses, places, spaces, machines, whatever. It was my first book, "Clearing: A Guide to Liberating Energies Trapped in Buildings and Lands."
My most recent book, "Reiki Shamanism: A Guide To Out-of-Body Healing" (Findhorn Press, 2008) is now in bookstores. For it, and other books I've written, check out our Web site Healing The Earth/Ourselves (Healing The Earth/Ourselves, http://www.blueskywaters.com), or look up "Jim PathFinder Ewing" on Amazon, or Borders, Barnes & Noble, or a bookstore near you.
Or, you can Order All My Books Direct From Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/002-7131649-3854409?ur l=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=Jim+PathFinde r+Ewing&x=12&y=15)
While you're looking around, you might want to learn of the properties or powers of animal totems and how they can be combined with the energies or medicine of stones by looking at Waya's animal totem necklaces from her Bear Walks With Wolf Studios: Bear Walks With Wolf Studios (http://www.blueskywaters.com/animaltotem necklaces.htm)
Everything is explained, with lots of pictures and examples, and you can order personalized necklaces and other hand-crafted, unique and custom items to complement your personal power animals and animal totems. Each necklace, or bracelet, is hand crafted, with gemstone quality stones, each custom made for the person who orders it, or for whom it is ordered, and it includes a written interpretation of the healing qualities of the stones. Some are large, some are small, each is unique.

One-Hour Interview With Jim PathFinder Ewing (Sept. 27)

..

Jim PathFinder Ewing (Nvnehi Awatisgi) talks about his book, Reiki Shamanism: A Guide to Out-of-Body Healing (Findhorn Press, 2008) in this one hour interview Sunday, Sept. 27.

My Interests

My interests? Doing ceremony for all beings. For a while, I was what you might call a "circuit riding medicine man," the spiritual and ceremonial elder for groups in Mississippi, Arkansas and Texas.

Each month, I did ceremony -- weddings, birth celebrations, prayer vigils, fasts, blessings, asi/inipi or "sweat lodge," performing bear dance, attending Native American Church services, or Powwows or gatherings, etc.

So, I would go to Texas and spend a few days, come back to Mississippi, go to Arkansas for a few days, come back to Mississippi, do ceremony in Mississippi, then start the cycle all over again.

We've been doing Medicine Wheel Ceremony (a prayer ceremony) here in Lena each month for seven years. That's a long time, and a lot of people. In addition to our workshops on shamanism, Reiki and other modalities of what is called "energy medicine," hundreds of people have visited and shared their medicine.

Students have come from all over the United States and several foreign countries, as far as Central and South America, Canada, and Japan.

With the traveling, teaching, ceremony, writing, etc., it doesn't leave much time for outside interests.

In addition, we have started organic farming -- a small operation, called ShooFly Organic Farms. We harvest and grow native seeds to ensure that indigenous seed stocks are not lost.

That, we believe, is living in right relationship with Earth Mother! Duyuktv!

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet anyone who is serious about walking the spiritual path, and enjoying the sights and smells along the way. You'll notice that for "age," it says 90. That's because this site belongs to me and my beautiful wife, Annette Waya, who walks this path with me.

We wanted to put our combined ages, but the counter didn't go that high, well over 100 years. Wonder why? I suspect folks can, or will, be living that long soon routinely, if they will "tune in" to the energies of the Earth Mother, while allowing, accepting, acknowledging and being grateful. :-)

We've been doing ceremony here and from coast to coast for nearly a decade. Although I had been walking the path far longer, I "came out" to begin doing public ceremony in 1999.

We believe that in order to save the Earthly Mother, it is important for every human being to come forward and offer his or her medicine to share.

We are all members of the "five-fingered tribe," one people. The colors of the medicine wheel -- black, white, red, yellow -- are the colors of all peoples in one circle.

We have done ceremony from the Northeast, to the East Coast, South to Miami, inland to Atlanta, to the West Coast, in Los Angeles, across Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico, up to Arizona and Colorado, and extensively in the Southeast, down to the rubble of Hurricane Katrina on the Gulf of Mexico. In keeping with tradition, we do not charge for ceremonies, and all are welcome. Aho!

The path is a good one! Osida!

Music:

We sing sacred songs. Some are taught. Some we come up with when we sing. :-) Any time you sing from the heart, it is the music that Creator hears.

I write about that in my books, "Clearing," and "Finding Sanctuary in Nature: Simple Ceremonies in the Native American Tradition for Healing Yourself and Others."

A Native song that has been given to you is a sacred gift and whenever you sing it, you should always say who taught it to you, where it came from, what is its purpose, and how it is applied.

In ancient days, songs that were "discovered" in fast, what some people call vision quest, or in performing a sacred act, or gifted by a plant or animal, belonged to the individuals and their families, then were given to their extended families (clan, so-called "tribe," and nation). Peoples went to war over sacred songs; so it's good to share them, everything about them, including where they came from, so that all may enjoy them, and those who gave them are honored for their gift, sharing them with all relations.

Books:

Nowdays, I write books. My third book, "Healing Plants and Animals From a Distance: Curative Principles and Applications" was published in October, 2007.

My fourth book is titled "Reiki Shamanism: A Guide to Out-of-Body Healing," published by Findhorn Press in September, 2008, and is in bookstores everywhere.

You can Order All My Books Direct From Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/002-7131649-3854409?ur l=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=Jim+PathFinde r+Ewing&x=12&y=15)

The photo on this page of me and Waya was taken at Lemuria Books in Jackson, Miss. We are thrilled to be able to share what we have learned and seen in a good way. Tsiwonisv!

Heroes:

My heroes are the people who have come through adversity and survived, and then share their gifts with others.

We teach that the feather has two sides. One side is bright, for the coloration, distinction; the other side is usually more bland, some might say ugly. It's the same feather. Which way do you view it? Which do you show?

We wear our feathers proudly here. We sit in the circle, no one at the "head of the table." All equal. All heroes. We are all one. It is Good! Osida!

Gus dii dada dv ni!
