Every Time You Make The World A Little Bit Better, You're Changing It Forever img src=http://i179.ph

About Me

I love being inspired by other's words...and will humbly pass some along here.....
"The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it."
~Chinese Proverb
"Our character is what we do when we think no one is looking."
~H. Jackson Browne

"My Grandchild, Education Is The Ladder. Tell Our Children To Take It."
~Chief Manuelito, Din'e
"Almighty God made me an Indian, but not an agency Indian.
~Geronimo, Apache (Circa 1876)
"Why would you stay in a self-imposed prison when the door is so wide open?"
~Rumi
"The difference between a boss and a leader: A boss says, "Go". A leader says, "Let's Go"! ~E. M. Kelly
"Times change but principles don't. Times change but lands do not. Times change but our culture and our language remain the same. And that's what you have to keep intact. It's not what you wear - it's what's in your heart." ~Oren Lyons, Onondaga
"No One Can Defeat Us Unless We First Defeat Ourselves."
"Don't ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive, then go and do that. What the world needs is people who have come alive." ~Harold Whitman
"Challenges can be stepping stones or stumbling blocks. It's just a matter of how you view them." ~Author Unknown

To know something we must become one with it. We cannot know what a flower smells like until we actually smell it. Close your eyes and experience the fragrance. Going back to the old ways doesn't mean giving up electricity, homes and cars. It means living by and honoring the same principles, laws and values that our ancestors lived by; this will allow us to live successfully in today's world. The spirituality our ancestors lived is the same spirituality we need in these modern times. There are too many influences from TV, radio, newspapers, magazines and negative role models that are guiding lives in a bad way. Our stability is in the laws, principles and values that our ancestors were given, and that our Elders teach us.

I'm just a "multi-taskin" woman! ;-) I've been told I'm too nice, tenacious (someone even compared me to a pitbull once *lol*), happy and joyful, free-spirited, honest, dependable, kind-hearted, loyal-to-a-fault, fun-loving, rebellious when restricted, impatient, silly, independent, ornery, sensitive, determined, daring, ambitious, kind, a childlike~warrior woman, romantic, and loving.....many things all in one woman. I've got your back, until you give me reason not to. I always forgive; my spirit will not hold a grudge. But I can, and will, turn my back and walk away if someone gives me good reason to. I prefer to be around those that understand the spiritual side of this world that we live in, but realize there are lessons to be learned from all. I volunteer with many organizations. I especially enjoy being around children and elders--intergenerational groups and activities are such a blessing to be a part of!

I want to state somewhere, so this is probably about the best place.....I've been getting a lot of Friend Requests. If you send me a Friend Request, I will check out your page. If you have "T & A" Shots, people flipping-off the camera, or all kinds of filthy language and/or pictures, I will delete your request. Just that simple....don't waste my time, or disrespect me and those that are my Friends. I have no interest in any of that.

Creator gifted me with artistic ability, and I would like to make more time for that again...I used to paint, draw, carve and make pottery. Now, I spend most of my free time making regalia, or shooting photos.
I love to have my wheels on the road; just cruisin' down the highway with the music crankin'. And I love being outdoors and looking up at the night sky. I always enjoy all the stars in the sky....Especially in the Southwest--there's so much beauty in the night sky when you're out in the desert, or up in the mountains.

To watch the beauty of the sun rise and set, or to walk in the woods by the light of a full moon; to listen to the sounds of nature ~ the call of an eagle; leaves rustling with the wind; geese in formation as they call to and encourage their leader in flight; the water of a trout stream as it cascades over riffles and rocks ~ examples of nature's music to my ears...and yet, to have an AWESOME man to walk beside me in this journey....that would be my ultimate symphony. My story continues......
I work in the public sector by day. On nights and weekends, I have my own company and I provide promotion, marketing, business management and editing for our Native Brothers and Sisters...the artists, musicians, and writers, because there is SO MUCH talent out here that should be shared!!
To all who visit this page....Blessings....

Yes, these are some of my shots. . . .
This video was shared with me, and I'm sharing with all of you....

Some men feel the need to love a thousand different women. A REAL MAN knows how to love ONE WOMAN a thousand different ways.

"You have to find something that you love enough to be able to take risks, jump over the hurdles and break through the brick walls that are always going to be placed in front of you. If you don't have that kind of feeling for what it is you are doing, you'll stop at the first giant hurdle." ~ George Lucas, Film Director~Producer

I'd like to meet:

Many of those that have gone before us ~ I'd like to listen to what they have to say. Also, interesting people that live without FEAR!

Music:

"So You Want To Be A Cowboy Singer"
..
An AWESOME Song By Waylon Jennings & Tony Joe White From The Album: Waylon & Company

THANKS TO ALL FOR SUPPORTING D JOHNSON, THE NEW COUNTRY STAR.COM FAVORITE MALE VOCALIST ~ FEBRUARY 2007!!
AND, THANKS TO ALL THE FANS, D'S SONG, "ONLY WIND BLOWING SAND" WAS THE NUMBER NINE SONG IN THE TOP 50 SONGS COUNTDOWN OF 2006 AT Supercountryhits.com!
ALSO, "MIDNIGHT SONG" WAS SONG NUMBER ONE IN THEIR TOP 20 THE FIRST WEEK OF 2007!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR AWESOME SUPPORT OF D JOHNSON'S SONGS!!!
WITHOUT Y-O-U, IT WOULDN'T BE POSSIBLE!

I love all different types of music by a lot of different artists, ranging from old Blues legends such as Howlin' Wolf and Robert Johnson to Muddy Waters to traditional and contemporary Country (if Brookes and Dunn would sing me a personal serenade of "My Maria", I'd be soooo speechless), to Rock and Roll, Metal (Metallica ringtone on my phone~RAWK!), Native American (ranging from powwow drums to flute to Hip-Hop and NAC ~ and especially the old traditional songs) ~I also sing behind a powwow drum~I'm honored to have been asked and love it, Latin (I work out to Lighter Shade of Brown's Greatest Hits CD), and many off-tha-charts guitarists, such as Steve Vai. I can't even begin to imagine my life without music!

..

Movies:

Follow The River, Crossroads (the one about Robert Johnson, the Blues Man), Dance Me Outside, Powwow Highway, Underworld, Frida, The Life and Times of Frida Kahlo (PBS), Hellboy, Now And Forever, Legend, Heartworn Highway, Last of the Mohicans (love the scenery~reminds me of Mohican State Park in Ohio), A River Runs Through It (but the book, as usual, was MUCH better!), The Missing, Smoke Signals, The Big Eden, The Blues Brothers, Last Of the Dogmen, Skins, Into The West, Somewhere In Time, Hidalgo, Incident At Oglala....I usually watch movies that I can either learn from or just laugh at and enjoy. But, sometimes I still just wanna watch something gory or scary--like all the SAW flicks, or a good vampire movie! ;) Also, there are many good independent films~especially the ones by N8V Brothas and Sistahs--the list continues......

Television:

I'd rather be out in nature....

Looking forward to mountain biking once I move, and also getting a sweet dirt bike ~ my license needs dusted-off! ;) I love wolves, and most of the footage in the video below of them in action.

But I do watch some sports on occasion! ;)

Books:

Anything that challenges my way of thinking, and informs me of the past. Also books about Din'e history and culture, as well as books about silversmithing, weaving, pottery, and the artisans: I'm honored to read about them. I rarely read fiction.....

Heroes:

The many people that are giving of themselves daily to make this world a better place...yeah...may sound "corny", but there are many who work tirelessly behind-the-scenes because it's the right thing to do.

The Navajo Codetalkers. They left their families (in secret); they laid their lives on the line; their fellow soldiers were ordered to shoot them if they were captured by the enemy; their special 'code' they designed with their language saved lives and was instrumental in the war, and they had to keep their secrets for over fifty years......they are my heroes!

And My Late Uncle Bill
