With that proviso, a brief history of Bon Viveurs. Craig and Anthony first met at Northumbria Uni 6 years ago, probably during a lecture on plants. Craig had previously played in a band at high school, whereas Anthony's only experience had been playing his guitar in church. However, a life of indie rock 'n' roll debauchery beckoned (though it still hasn't arrived yet...), and the pair, along with other occasional friends and hangers-on, tried to start up a band, initially by playing covers of Ocean Colour Scene and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Eventually (and probably for the best) the ill-fated venture faded into obscurity...
Two years pass. Early 2005, Craig asks if Anthony fancies starting a 'proper band', so along with a third guitarist they begin writing songs in Craig's 'practice room'. Early efforts proved promising, and have since evolved into "Weekend Offender", "Silent Refusal" and "The Return". Once again, the cold hand of fate plays his cards, and a string of non-committed bassists and the lack of any drummer leads to the departure of guitar 3, leaving Craig and Anthony alone once more.
Desperate times... The internet provided us with a glimmer of hope in the dancing, bass-riffing form of Danny. Further enquiries a few months down the line (and a big recommendation from Anthony's girlfriend's brother) and Martin arrives on the scene, finally completing the line-up. Much practice and polishing ensued, and under the banner 'Bon Viveurs' the battle lines were drawn. Touting a lyrically-dense brand of quirky indie pop, catchy riffs, pounding drums and all manner of onstage antics, Bon Viveurs are set for the stage. You're welcome along for the ride.
