'There Is A Place and We're Just Not There Yet ...'
I vowed, in 1972, that this 'Yes' passage would be a part of my wedding one day:
"And you and I climb, crossing the shapes of the morning
And you and I reach over the sun for the river
And you and I climb, clearer, towards the movement
And you and I called over valleys of endless seas."
Humanitarians whose hearts bleed with mine over the plight of our animal friends.

If we are thieves, then so were the members of The Underground Railroad who freed the slaves from the South.

Captain Paul Watson
“I have been fighting whalers since 1974 which is all of my adult life. I would dearly love to see whaling abolished before I die and if that means spending the remainder of my days fighting whalers on the high seas than that is what it will be."
The founder of the 'Sea Shepherd Conservation Society' and a significant figure in the environmental movement and animal rights movement.
He was named by Time Magazine in 2000 as one of its 'Environmental Heroes of the 20th Century'.
The first Sea Shepherd vessel, the Sea Shepherd, was purchased in December 1978 with assistance from the Fund for Animals. Sea Shepherd soon established itself as one of the more controversial environmental groups, known for provocative direct action tactics in addition to more conventional protests.
These tactics have included, at times, ramming whaling ships at sea, and the scuttling of two ships in an Icelandic harbor.
Alex Pacheco ~ PETA co-founder
Pacheco was a member of the Sea Shepherd crew during its encounter with the Sierra, an outlaw whaling ship that may have killed up to 25,000 whales between 1968 and 1979.
In 1979, the Sea Shepherd caught up with the Sierra off of the coast of Portugal. With its concrete-reinforced bow, the Sea Shepherd charged the Sierra, colliding with it three times.
Pacheco was later named "Crew Member of the Year" for his efforts during that expedition.
