Animals, wildlife, wildlife rehabilitation, chihuahuas, dogs, opossums, books of any kind, old movies, new movies, opossums, true crime books, computers, Macintosh, graphic design, hospice, death and dying, opossums, birds, crows, woodpeckers, Vincent Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, and finally, opossums. They're so much more interesting than humans.
Friends, anyone involved in wildlife rehab, especially small mammals like rabbits, opossums, and rabbits and squirrels. Rodents too! Of course bird rehabbers too. I also bring home crows and woodpeckers, and starlings when necessary. I would also like to connect with any old friends from Oklahoma from school or work.
Scissor Sisters is sort of a new favorite. Elton John, Dead CAn Dance, Cowboy Junkies, Blanche, Green Day, Annie Lennox, Nine Inch Nails, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Willie Nelson, Neil Diamond, L7, Seven Year Bitch, Elvis, Cat Stevens, Cher, Prince, Prince, Prince, White Stripes, Julee Cruise, Loretta Lynn, Enya, Lucinda Williams, just like books, too many to name...
Silence of the Lambs, Gone With the Wind, As Good As It Gets, Donnie Darko, Purple Rain, Love, Actually, The Piano, The Color Purple, Hannibal, Hannah and Her Sisters, the Goodbye Girl (original), West Side Story, Brigadoon, Wild At Heart, Blue Velvet. All the LOTR movies. Goodfellas, Harold and Maude, (I bought it recently finally!) American Beauty, I know I already said Brigadoon but I also LOVE every single old Gene Kelly musical, they always make me wish I was the girl. Spinal Tap, Waiting for Guffman, I guess I could sit here all day and make these lists!
I only like it when it's good. I LOVE THE SOPRANOS! I miss them so much already. My new favorite is Dexter. I think it's the best show with a wonderful premise and great actors. (a serial killer who only kills other killers who escape the law somehow) I loved Six Feet Under, I really miss it. I am obsessed with THE OFFICE. Curb Your Enthusiasm. I miss Arrested Development. I guess it was too quirky and well written for commercial TV. I also like any kind of forensics or crime show, such as Forensic Files, Dominick Dunne's series, etc.
Waaaaay too many favorites. Cider House Rules, A Prayer for Owen Meaney, Hotel New Hampshire......love John Irving. All Stephen King, Patricia Cornwell, Ruth Rendell, Thomas Harris. I'm reading the Hannibal prequel now, "Hannibal Rising", it's great. I love Augusten Burroughs, David Sedaris. Dean Koontz. Have you read "Wicked"? It's been out awhile but I LOVE that book and I just started the sequel. I love memoirs if they are about any type of dysfunctional family/life. My family is great, I just happen to find it terribly boring to read about other people's happy childhood memories. I want the interesting details. I'm reading the Liar's Club by Mary Karr right now. Good stuff. I love to talk to anyone about books. I get in the mood for different subjects, I also like true crime and biography alot. Wish I had more time to read!
My dad, who I will miss for the rest of my life.Diane Fossey, who died protecting the wild gorillas from greedy poachers, who killed her. Life is not fair. I met her once and it was an honor. Several other people I know through my work with wildlife. I only consider heroes people who do amazing things without the reward of money, things done from the heart. I am proud to know several people like that.
