About Me

Kyle Swartzwelder has been a fixture on the Delaware folk-rock scene for five years. Like most of us, his taste for music came at an early age, listening to too much of The Beatles and Simon & Garfunkel and discovering a 1968 Ovation Balladeer in his father’s closet. He got his start backing up friends on guitar and after being encouraged to take center stage to claim some of the spotlight for himself, he soon found his voice as a performer. Any initial stage fright he felt quickly dissolved, as he’s gone on to play over 150 live shows in numerous clubs, coffeehouses and open mics throughout the Delaware Valley.
2007, though, has clearly been the busiest year of Kyle’s short career. In addition to hosting a Thursday evening open mic at Burlap & Bean in Newtown Square, PA and being nominated for Delaware’s Best Male Songwriter by Out & About , Kyle is hard at work on his upcoming release, laying down tracks at his home studio with the help of many musicians from the Delaware Valley.
Recommend if you like - Ryan Adams, Iron and Wine, Pete Yorn, Josh Ritter, early Jackson Browne, early Neil Young.
