What up ya'll,My name's Matt, but to most I am known simply as Chew. I've been playing drums/percussion in numerous ensembles for nearly 20 years now and will probably continue to do so until both of my arms fall off, which hopefully doesn't occur any time soon. Some of my groups included SOULoh, Swartzwelder, Jeremy Hare Band, and currently - the Pat McGee Band. I could go on all day listing guys (and ladies) that have influenced my growing as both a musician and person this 22 year span but for now I'll just name a few -- Carter Beauford, Steve Gadd, Bernard "Pretty" Purdie, Dennis Chambers, Steve Smith, Chris Williams, Paul Doucette, John Mayer, Steve Jordan, Bobby D. Jones, John Bonham, Tiger Okoshi, ?uestLove, Dave Weckl, Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Elvin Jones, Max Weinberg, JoJo Mayer, Sheila E., Victor Wooten, John Mayer, Stephen Kellogg, Dave Matthews, & a whole boat-load more. By opening up my ears to such a variety, I have been able to expand my playing abilities to various genres. If ever interested in taking some lessons, I am also available in that regard. I currently teach at RhythmLand Drum Center in Elkton, Maryland. When I'm not playing music, I thoroughly enjoy and cold beer and a ballgame (huge fan of the Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Flyers, Phillies & Sixers).Thanks for droppin' by and taking the time to read 'about me.'
