I own and operate Red Metric Enterprises, LLC , a full service private educational, scientific and creative consulting company. I offer private (group and individual) instruction in Drumming (snare and drum kit), as well as more traditional academic subject matter (for those drummers interested in expanding their intellectual horizons), including.....
Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Statistics, Ecology, Marine Science/Oceanography etc.....
If your problem involves drums and drumming and/or mathematics and science, I am confident that I can help you improve in whatever area you desire. My instructional rates are very reasonable and I have a solid track record of helping students ages 7-45 achieve their goals. I have 5 years of professional drum teaching experience (Thank you CW and God love ya bro!) and 15 years of academic teaching experience at the middle and high school and university (undergraduate and gradute) levels, as well as in professional school and corporate settings. So, rest assured that I can teach!
Drum instruction -- $40 per hour
Academic instruction -- $30 per hour
I offer private drumming instruction in two convenient studio locations in Williamsburg and Gloucester. I am also available for in-home instruction, depending upon location and schedule. I love to teach students on their drum kits (or otherwise in environments in which they feel most comfortable learning). However, I can only spread myself out so far geographically. So, please call or write to discuss your unique in-home lesson/instruction situation(s).
I offer more professional services as well. Need a pro drummer or drum tech for your live, touring or session work? I am available and can help you. I am a veteran drummer with 10 years of pro and semi-pro touring and recording experience. I have toured nationally extensively with former Digitone Recording Artists, Red Metric, and am well versed in many popular musical styles. I have had the privilege of sharing the stage with great rock acts like Metallica, Godsmack, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, The Smithereens, The Pat McGee Band, Pretty Boy Floyd, Dokken, Great White etc. I have a substantial compliment of pro drum gear capable of supporting diverse live and studio musical situations. My rates are very reasonable, but will, of course, vary according to your specific musical situation, location, required travel etc.

They are maiden (and very crude) efforts at assembling preliminary material for a planned instructional video, but they will give you a reasonable glimpse into my capabilities on and approach to the drum kit. Please forgive the crude audio in these clips. I am currently refining my methodologies and plan to upload some better clips in the near future. So, please check back often for more updates.
And last, but certainly not least, I am also available for scientific, educational and editorial consulting and freelance writing work. I have an advanced academic background in scientific research, data analysis, writing, publishing, editing and consulting and I am confident that I can be of great value to you in completing your next project.

And if you're really bored....there's more. Much more! I recently picked up a nice digital camera with some cool video features on board. The purchase was fortuitous in that I had long been interested in capturing some of my own playing on video. I am usually nearly pathologically insecure when it comes to performing while the "red light" is on. Thus, as you can imagine, this causes me some difficulty in the recording studio. But, I dove right into this exercise and it was a lot of fun and actually very (self) instructive. Best of all it really forced me to examine critically the "state of my technique" (as it were).

So, if you're interested, take a look and listen and let me know what you think. This is entirely a self-indulgent exercise in improvisational drumming. So, don't expect too much in the way of organization and/structure. Also, please be gentle on me in your critiques. HA HA! I apologize in advance for the poor audio quality too. The audio capabilities of this otherwise great camera leave quite a bit to be desired. I'm working on the problem and I really hope to begin stocking this page up with quality instructional (and entertainment) video clips real soon. In fact, it is my ambition to ultimately assemble enough quality video material for an instructional DVD.

In the meantime, it is my hope that these clips will, at the very least, provide for you a glimpse into how I tend to approach the The Craft in general. Enjoy these humble offerings of drumming exhibition/entertainment and be sure to check back often for more updates, as I work to optimize the engineering aspects of this endeavor (as well as my technique and instructional refinement).
